Java Software Engineer

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Salary: Not a constraint for the right candidate!

Experience: 6-8 years.

Hybrid: 2 days Work from Home 3 days Work from Office

Your Profile & DNA:

We are seeking an experienced Java Software Engineer to join a leading banking client in Amsterdam. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java development, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, RESTful services, and modern software engineering practices. Experience in the banking or payments domain is highly preferred.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications.
• Develop secure, scalable, and high-performance RESTful APIs.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and related tools.
• Write high-quality, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.
• Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure application quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues while ensuring optimal system performance.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and promote the adoption of modern engineering practices.

Qualification & Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
• Strong software engineering experience in designing, developing, and maintaining Java applications.
• Experience in the Banking or Payments domain.
• Azure DevOps experience (Deployments, Repositories, Code Reviews)
• CI/CD implementation experience
• Passion for Open Source technologies.
• Familiarity with modern software engineering best practices.
• Ability to work effectively in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments.
