Java UI Migration Engineer

Job Description You have solid Java experience and enjoy working on structured, tangible engineering tasks? Join a well-established Swiss company in migrating a large-scale desktop application from Java Swing to the Vaadin framework - mask by mask, with 15 internal developers as sparring partners. Analyse existing Java Swing UI masks and understand their behaviour and service dependencies Rebuild approximately 300 UI masks in Java with the Vaadin framework Ensure visual and functional consistency with the original application Collaborate closely with the internal development team and incorporate architecture feedback Requirements Solid Java programming experience (reading and writing) Familiarity with UI frameworks; Vaadin experience is a plus Ability to understand service-oriented application architecture Structured, independent working style German skills (written and spoken); fluent German is a plus Benefits Start: 01.09.2026 Workload: 20–80% Duration: ca. 1-3 months Location: hybrid (Zürich), remote possible - client would prefer on site at least in the beginning phase Salary: 35 CHF / h
