Job Category: University Staff Employment Type: Regular Job Profile: Financial Specialist I Job Summary: The University of Wisconsin Press Journals Division serves a worldwide audience through publishing peer-reviewed academic and professional journals. The Journals Customer Service candidate will be a detail oriented, highly organized individual with great communication skills. This role works closely with libraries, subscription agents, scholarly societies, and other press and administrative staff to manage current subscriptions and develop new business opportunities. Key Job Responsibilities: Drafts basic communications and reports and maintains organization of varied records to provide administrative support within a specified work unit (25%) Troubleshoots and resolves issues in a timely and professional manner (10%) Provides exceptional customer service, answering questions in a specific subject area to internal and external customers based on set materials and standards (10%) Audits or reconciles original purchase documents with payments (15%) Audits or processes transactions and assigns funding codes in accordance with established rules, regulations, and policies (30%) Answers general fiscal questions and provides information based on set materials and standards to various audiences (10%) Department: University of Wisconsin Press Compensation: The target pay range for this position is $17.31-$21.15 per hour. Actual pay will depend on the selected candidate's qualifications. This position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid-time off, competitively priced health/dental/vision/life insurance, tax-advantaged savings accounts, and participation in the nationally recognized Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) pension fund. Review the benefits summary for more information. Work Schedule/Location: This is a part-time position, 32 hours per week. This position offers flexibility in work schedule and remote work. Expectations regarding scheduling and remote work will be discussed during the interview process. The UW Press offices are located on the UW-Madison campus in Memorial Library, 728 State Street, Suite 443. Qualifications: Demonstrated record of attention to detail and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a wide variety of audiences. Demonstrated record of effectively prioritizing multiple tasks, accomplishing all in an accurate and timely manner.
