Junior Accountant (XERO and AU experience)

Profile Requirements: Minimum 3+ years of accounting experience in a commercial, public practice, or similar accounting environment. Advanced proficiency in Xero accounting software, including reconciliations, reporting, payroll, and system administration. Strong understanding of Australian accounting principles, GST, BAS, payroll, and compliance requirements. Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in financial data. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data analysis, and financial reporting functions. Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. able to finalise annual accounts in Xero and prepare Trust, company and individual tax returns in XERO tax Core responsibilities: Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliations. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to support business decision-making. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations using Xero accounting software. Process payroll, superannuation, and related statutory obligations in a timely manner. Prepare and lodge BAS, GST, PAYG, and other regulatory reports as required. Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial performance, providing insights and recommendations to management. Support external accountants and auditors by preparing financial documentation and responding to information requests.
