Junior Automation Specialist

The Junior Automation Specialist helps our team build and maintain the systems that keep finance departments running smoothly. Currently, you will support a large project for an Antwerp-based logistics client, focusing on the automation of their internal reporting workflows. This is a full-time, fully remote role that requires a logical mind and a high level of accuracy when handling data.

While we build new systems from scratch, much of our work involves remediating existing setups in Oracle EPM, SAP BPC, and Power BI. What You Will Do

• Assisting in the configuration of data collection templates within EPM software to ensure smooth input from various departments.
• Setting up basic automated scripts to move data between logistics tracking systems and financial reports for our Antwerp-based logistics client.
• Testing consolidation rules to verify that intercompany eliminations are calculated correctly during the close process.
• Reviewing data pipelines to identify specific steps where manual entries can be replaced by automated logic.
• Creating technical documentation and user guides so finance teams can manage their own systems without ongoing external support.
• Verifying that dashboards and financial reports match the source data down to the cent through rigorous reconciliation.
• Participating in remote team meetings to discuss project milestones and resolve technical roadblocks as they arise.
• Supporting senior consultants in the deployment of cloud-based financial planning models.

What We Are Looking For

• A basic understanding of accounting principles, including how balance sheets and profit and loss statements function.
• Familiarity with Excel, specifically using formulas and pivot tables to organize and check large datasets.
• A strong interest in how software and automation can solve repetitive manual tasks in a business setting.
• The ability to work independently in a fully remote setting while staying in close communication with the team.
• Willingness to learn specific EPM tools such as Oracle, SAP, or similar enterprise financial platforms.
• Clear written communication skills for drafting project documentation and clear instructions for clients.
• High attention to detail when checking financial figures for discrepancies or errors.
• A logical approach to problem-solving and a desire to understand the mechanics of how data flows between systems.
