JHC Consulting is currently advising a major European regulatory body on matters of institutional strategy and internal governance. As part of this mandate, we require a Junior Automation Specialist to support the technical dimensions of our research and data synthesis. This role is a full time, permanent position conducted entirely through a remote work model. The focus of the firm is not on volume but on the clarity and accuracy of our written counsel. You will be responsible for creating the systems that allow our principals to access, organize, and scrutinize the vast amounts of information relevant to our clients.
The Role
In this role, your primary task is to automate the collection and preliminary processing of information. Much of our work involves the deep reading of thousands of pages of corporate filings, regulatory transcripts, and historical records. You will design and maintain scripts that fetch this data, clean it, and present it in a format that allows for rigorous analysis. This is not a role for a developer who wants to hide behind code: you must understand the logic of the arguments we are testing. You will work closely with our senior advisors to identify where manual data collection is slowing down the thinking process and build sustainable, simple solutions to remove those bottlenecks. Because JHC Consulting avoids slide decks and visual presentations, your technical output must directly support the creation of detailed, text based memoranda.
What You Bring
We are looking for an individual who is early in their career but possesses a high degree of intellectual discipline. You should have a basic but firm grasp of scripting languages such as Python or similar tools used for data extraction and automation. Beyond technical ability, you must be a clear and effective writer. At JHC, we believe that writing is the most fundamental form of thinking. If you cannot explain the logic of a script or the results of an automated process in a plain English paragraph, the work is not yet finished. You should be comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule within a remote environment. An interest in finance, law, or institutional governance is helpful, as you will be interacting with documents from these fields daily. We value candidates who pay close attention to detail and who take pride in the accuracy of the data they provide to the firm.
How We Work
JHC Consulting operates on a single author model. We do not believe in anonymous corporate work or collaborative drafts that dilute the strength of an argument. When you produce a piece of work, whether it is a technical report or a data summary, your name is on it. This creates a high level of individual accountability. Our engagements are deliberate and slow: we prefer to spend more time on a single revision than to rush a first draft. We do not use jargon and we do not participate in the typical ceremonies of the consulting industry. We provide counsel, not consensus. Every automation tool you build will be judged by how well it serves the final written memorandum provided to the client.
Working at JHC Consulting
This is a fully remote position that offers a significant degree of autonomy. We expect our staff to be professional, self directed, and capable of maintaining focus without constant supervision. JHC Consulting is a small firm by design, and we value the stability and quiet that comes with a remote practice. The pay for this role is competitive and reflects the high standards of discipline and intellectual rigor we expect from every member of the firm. You will have the opportunity to see how high level advisory work is conducted at the board and executive levels, and your contributions will be a direct part of the record we provide to our clients. We provide a workspace that prioritizes deep work over constant communication.
The firm maintains a standard of signed work where every page is the responsibility of the person who wrote it. This commitment to accountability is the foundation of our practice. As a Junior Automation Specialist, you will be expected to stand behind the data you produce and the logic you apply. We are looking for someone who finds satisfaction in the precision of a well built script and the clarity of a well written argument. Our work for the European regulatory body requires a steady hand and a clear mind, and we look for those same qualities in every person we bring into the firm.
