The Europe North Area Procurement Division is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to support procurement operations across multiple countries. This role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop a professional procurement career while contributing to meaningful work that supports the mission of the Church. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting purchasing activities within an assigned area, primarily involving routine and lower-complexity requirements. The role assists with sourcing goods and services, conducting basic price and supplier analysis, processing purchase orders, and supporting supplier and stakeholder interactions. Working closely with experienced procurement professionals, the Junior Buyer will develop procurement knowledge and capabilities while providing responsive service and support to internal customers. Location Candidates must reside, or be willing to relocate, within approximately 90 minutes of the Europe North Area Office in High Wycombe, United Kingdom. Minimum 3 days a week in the office is required. Current legal right to work in the UK is a mandatory; candidates who do not meet it will not be considered. Support purchasing activities for assigned requests and routine procurement requirements. Create and process purchase orders accurately and in compliance with policies and procedures. Obtain, review, and compare supplier quotations to support purchasing decisions. Follow up with suppliers regarding quotations, order confirmations, and deliveries. Assist in sourcing goods and services through the purchasing process with appropriate guidance and support. Monitor open purchase orders and help resolve delivery issues. Support internal requesters by providing procurement process guidance, product and supplier information, and status updates. Assist with purchasing and contract documentation and maintain accurate procurement records. Help maintain supplier information within procurement systems. Support the use of approved suppliers and catalogue solutions where appropriate. Support special projects and administrative procurement activities as assigned. Develop knowledge of procurement policies, systems, and purchasing principles. Required Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. Basic analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Good customer service and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Ability to learn procurement systems, business applications, and new technologies. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively with internal customers and suppliers. English understanding and reading capability sufficient to work with procurement systems, documentation, and international suppliers. Preferred Portuguese proficiency strongly preferred. Additional Europe North Area language skills considered an advantage. Previous experience, internship, or apprenticeship in purchasing, procurement, administration, customer service, finance, logistics, supply chain, or a related field. Experience with ERP or procurement systems. Interest in developing a long-term career in procurement and supplier management.
