You will check the integrity of financial datasets to help the team identify where economic reality differs from the corporate narrative.

The Role
As a Junior Data Quality Analyst, you will work in a fully remote environment as part of a small, principal led team. This is an entry level position designed for someone who enjoys technical investigation and has a healthy skepticism for reports that look too clean. Much of the work involves auditing the raw data that feeds into our financial models to ensure that our advice is based on facts rather than errors or mislabeled entries. You will see how high level financial decisions are made by learning how to dismantle the data behind those decisions. This role requires a quiet, disciplined approach to repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of alertness for anomalies.

What You Will Be Doing

• Reviewing and cleaning large financial datasets provided by our client in the fintech sector.
• Identifying discrepancies between different data sources and reconciling conflicting information.
• Testing the validity of assumptions used in pricing models and acquisition forecasts.
• Documenting data gaps or inconsistencies that could move the needle on a valuation.
• Supporting senior consultants by building data validation checks within Excel workbooks.
• Verifying historical transaction data to ensure it aligns with the reported financial statements.
• Developing basic scripts or routines to automate data verification steps for project audits.
• Drafting clear, plain English summaries of data health for internal team reviews.
• Tracking changes in client data feeds to maintain a consistent baseline for long term projects.

What You Bring

• A university degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including comfort with pivot tables and complex formulas.
• A natural tendency to double check your own work and a high level of attention to detail.
• Curiosity about how businesses actually make money and why financial models often fail.
• The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule in a remote setting.
• Strong written communication skills for explaining technical issues to non technical colleagues.
• A basic understanding of financial statements and fundamental accounting principles.
