Junior Financial Controller

Financial Controller, you will join the Operations department of EHA. In this role you will support financial record keeping by maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including transactions, invoices, and receipts. You ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. You will oversee financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and legal requirements. You understand accounts payable and receivable processes and can execute these. Monitoring inflows, outflows, and liquidity is no problem for you. Additionally, you will assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. In this role you will learn how an internationally operating non-profit association works (financially). Having a solid team of finance professionals is key for the association to achieve its goals, which is why your role matters. Main responsibilities: Keeping accurate records for all daily transactions: Daily recording of accounts payable and receivable, tracking inflows and outflows of funds, updating internal systems and ensuring data accuracy, reconciling bank statements daily, and tracking bank deposits and payments. Processing invoices for sponsorship and general suppliers and vendors: Working on an efficient invoice process to contribute to smooth cash flow management. Participating in annual financial audit: This includes alignment with the external party (from planning up to deliverables), internal stakeholders, and ensuring data is made available and interpretable by the auditor. Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial figures: Together with the other finance team members, you will prepare accurate figures in a timely manner. These reports include summaries of financial performance, analysis of trends, and will provide insights for management and stakeholders influencing decision making processes. Administration of financial systems is a key responsibility within this role: You will be the 'go-to' person for employee questions about the reimbursement tool and process; you coordinate with managers and work on user optimization. Employment will be subject to the dissolving condition that the employee provides the employer with a valid Certificate of Conduct (VOG) within eight weeks of the commencement date of their employment. What you bring Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline. 1 to 3 years' experience as a financial officer / professional. Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures. Experience using financial software (preferable Exact and Doxis Spendcontrol). Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Knowledge of financial regulations. Excellent analytical and numerical skills. Excellent communication of written and spoken English, proficiency in Dutch is considered an advantage. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Ability to work effectively in an international and multidisciplinary environment.
