Junior Fix-Network Planner (Full time/Cluj-Napoca)
Your tasks:
· Learn and assist in drafting fiber-optic routes (from distribution hubs to premises), check the existing underground utilities using digital maps to prevent routing conflicts.
· Input, update, and validate network assets, cable paths, and micro-duct layouts in specialized GIS platforms and databases (e.g., Qgis, ArcGis, Smallworld, PNI, NDOS, or AutoCAD).
· Prepare execution drawings, permit application packages, and documentation required for civil works and network deployment.
· Assist senior planners in documenting fiber connections, basic splicing plans, and backup routing paths under direct guidance.
· Review project data against standard design guidelines, identify basic discrepancies, and escalate complex technical situations.
· Participate in internal training sessions to expand your telecom engineering and geospatial planning expertise.
Your profile:
· University degree in Telecommunications/Electronics, Geosciences (Geography, Geology), Cadastre/Geodesy, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field
· Basic working knowledge or practical exposure to GIS tools (e.g., QGIS, Smallworld, MapInfo, ArcGIS) or CAD software (AutoCAD).
· Good spatial orientation, high attention to detail, and enthusiasm for working with maps, technical plans, and digital infrastructure data.
· Proactive learner, organized approach to assigned tasks, and good communication skills within a collaborative team.
· Good command of English (spoken and written); German language skills are an advantage.
· Nice to have (Bonus):
- Basic understanding/experience of fiber optic networks (FTTH/FTTB architectures, optical distribution frames, splicing, civil works).
- Previous academic projects or internships involving utility mapping or telecom GIS tools.
