Junior Recycling Intelligence Engineer

We are looking for a Junior Engineer to join our team and help build the systems that power CIRCPACK’s Recycling Intelligence services. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical curiosity with an interest in sustainability and recycling. You will work closely with experienced engineers and domain experts, learning how digital systems and data come together to create high-impact solutions for global clients.

This will be your job:

• You will support the development and maintenance of our software products, APIs, data workflows, and databases.
• Work with your colleagues to connect our systems with enterprise environments.
• Assist in building front-end interfaces, dashboards, and admin tools for internal and external use.
• Document your work and maintain a clear understanding of the data and domain you operate in.
• Contribute to improving automation and data accuracy across our platforms.
• Participate in the ongoing refinement of our data methodologies and reporting structures.
• Grow your technical and domain knowledge under the guidance of senior engineers and analysts.

You will be working in an enthusiastic international team. Core language in the team and with customers is English.

This is what you will bring to the team:

• University (or applied sciences) degree and at least 1 year of experience in a technical, engineering, or data role.
• Basic understanding of Python (FastAPI) or Node.js (Express) and SQL databases.
• Strong knowledge of safe and effective AI tool use.
• Knowledge of React.js or Next.js and front-end development principles.
• Eagerness to learn about SAP integration, APIs, and enterprise data systems.
• Comfort in using Git/GitHub and writing clear documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive learning attitude.
• Curiosity about packaging, recycling, and sustainability topics.
• You are based in the EU, preferably Belgium.
• Desire to grow into a full Recycling Intelligence Engineer role.
