We are adding a Junior Reporting Analyst to our team to help support our work with a German infrastructure provider. This client needs better ways to view and interpret the data coming from their physical systems, and your job will be to help us organize that information into clear, usable reports. This is a full-time, fully remote position where you will deal with real operational data rather than marketing metrics.
About Pixel Systems
Pixel Systems is a small, remote software agency that builds the tools teams actually use. We do not do flashy consumer apps or marketing sites. Instead, we focus on the practical stuff: admin panels, CRM integrations, and the database migrations that people usually try to avoid. Our clients come to us when they need to replace a sprawling spreadsheet with a real database or get their different software tools to finally talk to one another.
We believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never ships. Our approach is straightforward. We provide fixed quotes before we start, we do weekly demos, and we hand over everything: the code, the documentation, and even walkthrough videos when we are finished. We use reliable, well-tested technologies like Node, React, and Postgres because we want the software we build to be stable and easy to maintain. We are a team of developers and designers who prefer solving real operational headaches over chasing the latest trends.
The Role
In this role, you will be moving data between different systems and cleaning up datasets that have become messy over time. Much of the work involves taking raw information from our client's infrastructure logs and turning it into reports that their operations team can actually read. You will help build internal dashboards and ensure the data flowing into them is accurate. Since we are a remote company, you will manage your own time and collaborate with our developers through clear documentation and regular updates. This is a paid position, and the compensation is competitive for an entry-level role in the current market.
What You Bring
We are looking for someone who is organized and enjoys the process of making sense out of messy information. You do not need to be a data expert yet, but you should have a basic understanding of how databases work. We need a person who can look at a table of data and spot inconsistencies or errors before they reach the final report. Being able to explain your findings in plain English is more important to us than knowing complex statistical models. You should be comfortable working independently in a remote setting and be okay with work that is practical rather than flashy. Consistency and attention to detail are the main things we look for in this role.
Helpful Background - Experience using spreadsheets for more than just basic lists, such as using formulas to link data.
- A basic understanding of SQL or experience looking at Postgres databases.
- Familiarity with tools like GitHub for managing your work.
- Interest in how infrastructure systems operate and how data helps them run smoothly.
- Ability to write clear, simple documentation for the reports you create.
- Basic familiarity with JavaScript or Node is a plus but not required.
- Comfort using video tools to record walkthroughs of your reporting processes.
Working at Pixel Systems
Working here means you will not have to deal with layers of middle management or endless meetings. We are a small team that values working software and clear communication. We ship work that helps people like warehouse managers and maintenance crews do their jobs better. Because we are fully remote, we rely on each other to be honest about progress and to ask for help when something is not working. We provide fixed quotes for our clients and stick to them, which means our work environment is predictable and focused on getting things done correctly the first time.
We believe that simple, reliable software is better than complex, fragile systems. If you enjoy the technical side of organizing information and want to work on projects that have a direct effect on how physical infrastructure is managed, you will fit in well here. We value candidates who show up, do the work, and care about the accuracy of the data they handle. We focus on building tools that last, and we expect our reporting to meet that same standard of durability and clarity.
