XMS Ai is a digital marketing and AI solutions agency serving small and growing U.S. businesses. As we expand our AI, automation, and web development capabilities, we're hiring a Junior Software & Web Developer with roughly 2–3 years of hands-on experience who wants to grow across web development, software, AI, automation, APIs, and agentic workflows.
We're open to candidates from either direction: a web developer with strong WordPress/front-end skills who also codes and works with AI or automation, or a junior software developer comfortable with front-end technologies, WordPress, and Elementor. You don't need to master every tool listed — we value a solid technical foundation, practical experience, problem-solving ability, and a genuine willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
· Build, maintain, and improve websites and landing pages in WordPress; implement responsive, front-end solutions using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
· Write, test, and troubleshoot code, scripts, integrations, and lightweight software solutions.
· Build and support AI automations and agentic workflows using n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar platforms.
· Work with APIs, REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, authentication, MCPs, and third-party integrations — connecting websites, CRMs, databases, and SaaS platforms.
· Help develop AI-powered applications and agents using models such as OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini.
· Use modern AI coding tools (ChatGPT, Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, etc.) and Git/GitHub for version control and documentation.
· Troubleshoot failed automations, API/authentication issues, and website problems (domains, DNS, SSL, plugins, performance).
· Research new tools and platforms; document code, workflows, and technical configurations.
· Collaborate with web development, design, AI, automation, and SEO teams.
Must-Have Qualifications
· 1–2 years of experience in web/software development, programming, or automation (or equivalent hands-on work).
· Solid programming fundamentals: variables, functions, conditionals, loops, arrays/objects, basic error handling, and async concepts.
· Working knowledge of JavaScript (or TypeScript/Python), plus practical HTML/CSS and WordPress experience (Elementor a plus).
· Practical experience using AI tools for coding, debugging, research, or automation.
· Hands-on exposure to APIs, JSON, webhooks, and at least one automation platform (n8n, Make, or Zapier).
· Basic Git/GitHub knowledge, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to research solutions independently.
· Comfortable reading technical documentation in English.
· A portfolio, GitHub profile, or other work samples showing what you've personally built.
Nice to Have
· Experience building AI agents, agentic workflows, or working with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) and MCP integrations.
· Node.js or backend development, SQL/NoSQL, or API authentication (OAuth, API keys).
· Experience deploying apps/scripts or connecting SaaS platforms via APIs; familiarity with cloud or server environments.
· Website performance, hosting, DNS/SSL, or UI/UX implementation experience.
· Exposure to CRM, marketing automation, analytics, or SEO tools.
