Junior Web Developer

Role Description This full-time remote Junior Web Developer role at Richmond Public School focuses on supporting the development, maintenance, and enhancement of web applications and school websites. The Junior Web Developer will assist in building user-friendly interfaces, implementing responsive layouts, and ensuring accessibility standards are met. Day-to-day tasks include writing clean, well-documented code, fixing bugs, performing testing, and collaborating with senior developers, designers, and school staff to implement new features. The role also involves updating content, integrating back-end services, and participating in code reviews and ongoing learning to improve technical skills.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess front-end development skills, including experience with Front-End Development and Web Design.
• Candidates should possess back-end development skills, including experience with Back-End Web Development and Programming.
• Candidates should possess general web development skills, including experience with Web Development across the full stack.
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and familiarity with modern frameworks or libraries (such as React or Vue) is beneficial.
• Understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and web accessibility best practices is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate in a remote environment, manage tasks independently, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Interest in education and willingness to learn school-specific systems and guidelines is a plus.
