KS Family Advocate As a KS Family Advocate, you'll partner with foster, adoptive, and kinship families to provide education, coaching, advocacy, resources navigation, and ongoing support. You’ll help caregivers build the knowledge and confidence to navigate complex systems, advocate for their families, and access needed resources. Collaborate with child welfare professionals, schools, service providers, legal partners, and community organizations to strengthen communication and promote positive outcomes. Build community partnerships, participate in outreach activities, and help identify barriers affecting families. Manage multiple cases while maintaining timely documentation, meeting program requirements, and providing families with consistent, responsive support. This isn't just a position—it's an opportunity to empower families, strengthen connections, and help children and caregivers thrive. Qualifications & Preferred Skills Bachelor's degree in Social Work (preferred) or a related human services field. Previous foster, adoptive, or kinship caregiving experience required. If previously licensed as a foster or adoptive parent, the candidate must have maintained their license in good standing with no substantiated findings of child abuse or neglect or license revocation. Collaborate effectively within diverse, multidisciplinary teams and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of child welfare, foster care, adoption, kinship care, permanency, trauma, and community resources. Adaptable and proactive self-starter who effectively multitasks while maintaining strong attention to detail and organization to consistently meet all objectives and deadlines. Travel required within surrounding counties with or without accommodation. Compensation and Benefits Compensation commensurate with experience.
