Korea Research Associate (Independent Contractor)

Location: Seoul (Remote/Flexible)

We are looking for a highly motivated research associate to support one of Wall Street's leading Asia technology research franchises.

The role focuses on the semiconductor and electronics supply chain, working directly with the lead analyst covering advanced packaging, AI infrastructure, memory, substrates, PCB, test and thermal technologies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare company briefing materials before management meetings
• Monitor Korean technology and financial news
• Translate and summarize Korean-language articles and earnings materials
• Maintain industry databases and company profiles
• Support financial model updates and data collection
• Coordinate meetings with listed companies and industry participants
• Assist with factory tours, conference logistics and corporate access
• Track industry developments across Samsung, SK hynix and the broader semiconductor supply chain

Qualifications

• 2-5 years in equity research, investment banking, consulting, IR or the semiconductor industry
• Strong English and Korean communication skills
• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Ability to work independently
• Interest in technology investing

Preferred

• CFA candidate or charterholder
• Semiconductor industry experience
• Financial modeling experience

Engagement

• Independent contractor
• Approximately 15-30 hours per week (flexible)
• Remote with occasional meetings in Seoul
• Competitive hourly or monthly retainer
