Role Description This is a freelance remote role for a Korean Interpreter. The Korean Interpreter will facilitate real-time communication between Korean and English speakers in a variety of settings, such as business meetings, virtual conferences, and client calls. Daily responsibilities include accurately interpreting spoken dialogue, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring that meaning, tone, and intent are conveyed clearly in both languages. The role may also involve basic translation of short written materials, preparing for assignments by reviewing background information, and collaborating with coordinators or project managers to meet client expectations. The interpreter is expected to manage schedules responsibly, respond promptly to assignment requests, and maintain professional conduct in all remote interactions.
Qualifications

• Strong Korean and English language proficiency, including excellent listening, speaking, and comprehension skills.
• Demonstrated experience in consecutive or simultaneous interpretation in professional or community settings.
• Ability to convey meaning, tone, and cultural nuances accurately and neutrally between Korean and English.
• Solid understanding of interpretation ethics, including confidentiality, impartiality, and professionalism.
• Comfort working with remote communication tools and platforms (e.g., video conferencing, VoIP, online scheduling systems).
• Effective time management and organizational skills to handle multiple assignments and deadlines.
• Clear, professional communication style and strong interpersonal skills when interacting with clients and colleagues.
• Relevant education or training in linguistics, translation/interpretation, or related fields is preferred.
• Prior experience with language service providers or interpreter staffing agencies is a plus.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while remaining responsive and reliable.
