NALEJ is hiring a Kubernetes Application Administrator to manage and support containerized workloads in our AWS-hosted Kubernetes environments. This role ensures the health, performance, and security of deployed applications, with a focus on production-grade Kubernetes (EKS) administration, Helm chart management, and application troubleshooting. You’ll collaborate with DevSecOps and R&D teams to maintain reliable services for internal and external users. Job Details Location: Remote (occasional in office in D.C.) Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizenship Required Clearance Requirement: Active or Interim DoD Security Clearance Certification Requirement: IAT Level II (e.g., Security+, SSCP, or CCNA Security) Travel: Occasional On-Call: Yes (shared rotation) Responsibilities Operate, monitor, and maintain Kubernetes (EKS) clusters and applications. Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot Helm charts and custom workloads. Assist developers in deploying and debugging applications in EKS. Ensure cluster and namespace-level security policies are enforced. Perform application-level logging, metrics collection, and alerting configuration. Manage and audit Kubernetes RBAC, secrets, and ingress rules. Support deployments in secure and restricted environments. Maintain run books and documentation for Kubernetes-related tasks. Required Qualifications U.S. Citizenship Active or Interim DoD Security Clearance IAT Level II Certification (Security+, SSCP, or CCNA Security) 3+ years experience managing production Kubernetes environments Proficiency in Helm, kubectl, and troubleshooting Kubernetes networking Strong familiarity with Linux containers and microservice architecture Experience supporting CI/CD deployments into Kubernetes Preferred Qualifications Experience with Argo CD, Istio, and service mesh architectures Familiarity with DoD STIGs or FedRAMP environments Hands-on experience with secure ingress (Keycloak, OIDC, or SAML) Experience with GitOps and air-gapped deployments
