Lead Backend Engineer - Checkout (all genders)

Build complex, highly scalable technical solutions in close collaboration with the Tech Lead and Product Lead/Product Manager Define architectural decisions and ensure the delivery of reliable, state-of-the-art products Lead and mentor a world-class engineering team , collaborating with Product Managers, QAs, and Designers to ship new components and features Champion best practices in agentic engineering , efficiently leveraging modern AI tooling Work within a dynamic, international, and agile environment (SCRUM/Kanban) characterized by flat hierarchies and very short decision-making processes 10+ years of total experience, with at least 5–6 years as a Backend Developer Proven experience in leading or mentoring team members Extensive experience in modern backend web development, particularly with PHP 8+ in scalable, high-load environments Deep expertise in frameworks like Symfony and Laravel, adhering to best practices for building scalable applications Strong proficiency in MySQL and Redis Deep understanding of engineering principles and software architecture, including event-driven architecture Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure technologies such as Kubernetes, Helm, and AWS, as well as managing deployment pipelines (e.g., GitLab or similar tools) Fluent written and spoken English communication skills Nice to Have Experience with Golang or exposure to Generative AI (GenAI) and related technologies is a plus Your perks at a glance: Visit our benefits page .
