Lead Bookkeeper
Join our growing team and take the next step in your accounting career. We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Lead Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day accounting operations of our U.S.-based hospitality company.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bookkeeping professional who is comfortable working with numbers, maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounting transactions, and working independently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounting transactions.
- Record and classify daily financial transactions, including expenses, payments, deposits, and other accounting entries.
- Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Review invoices, payments, and supporting documentation for accuracy.
- Monitor outstanding balances and assist with follow-up on receivables and payables.
- Assist with monthly bookkeeping and month-end closing activities.
- Prepare and organize supporting documentation for financial reports and reconciliations.
- Identify discrepancies, investigate variances, and communicate issues promptly.
- Maintain organized accounting files and supporting documentation.
- Work closely with the Lead Accountant and other team members to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Assist with accounting reports, schedules, and other financial information as requested.
- Support improvements to bookkeeping procedures and accounting processes.
- Handle confidential financial information with a high level of discretion and professionalism.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting (Contaduría Pública), Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- 2–4 years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Advanced English proficiency is required, both written and spoken.
- Valid U.S. visa is required.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, account reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Experience with accounting software is required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proactive mindset and willingness to learn.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and external contacts.
- Hospitality or hotel accounting experience is a strong plus, but not required.
- Based in Colombia with the ability to work remotely.
- Willingness and ability to travel to the United States when required.

Experience in the hospitality or hotel industry is a strong advantage, particularly for candidates familiar with hotel accounting operations, but it is not required. We value accounting knowledge, adaptability, attention to detail, and a strong willingness to learn.
Compensation & Details
Salary Range: COP $5,500,000 – $7,500,000 per month (based on experience)
