Role; Lead SFCC Backend Developer

Location: Remote (Ukraine/ Eastern Europe)

Responsibilities:

• Develop enterprise-level e-commerce solutions utilizing server-side ECMAScript-based languages and modern client-side JavaScript.
• Actively participate in daily project team meetings and technical brainstorming sessions to address complex implementation issues.
• Provide accurate effort estimates and regular status updates for assigned tasks to ensure project milestones are met.
• Collaborate closely with frontend development and QA teams to ensure feature consistency and high-quality deliverables.
• Identify and recommend improvements for development procedures, internal systems, and engineering tools to the Team Lead.
• Design and implement robust integrations with external systems using REST and SOAP web services.
• Apply industry-standard design patterns and object-oriented principles to maintain scalable and efficient codebases.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience with any server-side language, with a strong preference for the Node.js environment.
• Must have SFCC Composable Commerce Backend Developer experience
• Role & Scope: Dev Lead focused on marketing-related development tasks (ensuring marketing content is delivered in the right place at the right time on the site).
• Technical Qualifications: Hands-on familiarity with PWA Kit is essential.
• Leadership Responsibilities: This lead will be responsible for writing user stories, estimating work, and providing technical guidance to junior team members. (Note: This is a technical leadership role, not people management).
• Excellent knowledge of native JavaScript and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Proficiency with JavaScript build engines and task runners such as Gulp, Webpack, or Grunt.
• Technical understanding of various data formats including JSON, CSV, and XML for system integrations.
• Hands-on experience with Version Control Systems, specifically Git, in a collaborative team environment.
• Solid knowledge of design patterns and their practical application in complex software projects.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills, used daily in a professional and technical capacity.
• Familiarity with popular JS frameworks or libraries such as jQuery, AngularJS, or ExtJS is highly desirable.
