Ciklum is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our team full-time in Brazil. We are a custom product engineering company that supports both multinational organizations and scaling startups to solve their most complex business challenges. With a global team of over 4,000 highly skilled developers, consultants, analysts and product owners, we engineer technology that redefines industries and shapes the way people live. About the role: As a Lead Software Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. Take end-to-end ownership of a working, well-documented cloud platform and carry it to production maturity. The system — a federated micro-frontend web application (React + Module Federation) backed by an event-driven Node.js/TypeScript backend on Azure —was designed and built by our Software Architect, who is transitioning to a part-time role. You will inherit the codebase, architecture docs, runbooks, and CI/CD; lead a development team of five; and work directly with the architect during the transition. You will interface with the PMO and Infra/DevOps teams. All work is delivered in a SOC 2, HIPAA, and PCI certified environment. This is a hands-on leadership role: roughly equal parts building, reviewing, and leading. The stack: React 18 + Vite + Module Federation micro-frontends (MobX, Tailwind), Node.js/TypeScript services on Azure Container Apps · Azure Service Bus (event-driven, transactional outbox, KEDA), PostgreSQL (Sequelize / Prisma), SSE streaming, LLM vendor integration, Microsoft Entra ID (MSAL), Terraform for all infrastructure, Azure DevOps CI/CD (OIDC, Key Vault–linked), Docker Compose local development. Responsibilities: Own and extend the platform host and its federated modules — backend services, REST APIs, and React micro-frontends Preserve the platform's durability and tenancy invariants: transactional outbox, idempotent processing, emit-after-commit SSE, tenant-scoped Postgres Land the in-flight Clerk + Microsoft Entra ID and own the role-based access policy layer Own Terraform infrastructure and Azure DevOps pipelines end to end Manage and mentor the development team (currently five, subject to change), run code reviews, and enforce documented engineering conventions; direct contractors where applicable Partner with the architect (part-time) on knowledge transfer and design decisions; report progress, risks, and resourcing to the PMO + Department VP Troubleshoot distributed-system issues across Azure services, networking, messaging, and application layers Requirements: 6+ years of professional software development, including technical leadership of a production system (delivery oversight, mentoring, performance management) Expert Node.js and TypeScript; production HTTP services (Express or similar) with schema-validated boundaries (Zod or similar) Strong production React: hooks, component architecture, reactive state management (MobX or comparable) Hands-on Azure: Container Apps (or deep container-orchestration background), Service Bus (or Kafka / RabbitMQ / SQS), Key Vault, Managed Identity Depth in event-driven architecture: brokers, transactional outbox, idempotency, dead-letter handling, long-running async workflows Production PostgreSQL: schema design, migrations, ORMs, multi-tenant isolation Terraform and Azure DevOps (or comparable CI/CD tooling); Docker and Docker Compose Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience Desirable: Module Federation or micro-frontend architecture in production LLM API integration (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Azure OpenAI): streaming and long-running generation jobs Microsoft Entra ID (MSAL) and/or Clerk; OIDC / JWKS token verification Vitest or Jest across multiple test layers; Supertest Experience engineering within SOC 2 / HIPAA / PCI constraints What’s in it for you?
