Job Description Summary As a Lead Technical Field Advisor (Lead TFA), you will provide technical leadership and field execution for Steam Turbine and Generator mechanical maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and outage activities at utility and industrial power plants. You will serve as the on-site technical focal point, responsible for leading complex job execution, coordinating field resources, and ensuring safe, high-quality, and timely delivery in alignment with GE standards and customer expectations. This role requires strong ownership, independent decision-making, and the ability to lead other TFAs, contractors, and site teams through challenging outage scopes. You will interpret engineering documents, support outage planning and closeout, resolve technical issues on site, and help drive customer satisfaction and business success. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Lead on-site mechanical scope execution for Steam Turbine, Generator, and Valve outage and maintenance activities following safety procedures, with high quality and on time. Own field execution at site and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. Coordinate other TFAs, contractors, and customer personnel during complex outages. Interpret drawings, P&IDs, schematics, procedures, and technical documentation to support field work. Drive disassembly, inspection, reassembly, alignment, and troubleshooting of turbine and generator components. Support outage planning, execution tracking, issue resolution, and post-outage closeout. Mentor and support other field team members as needed. Build strong customer relationships through clear communication and reliable execution. Required Qualifications Technical or university degree, or equivalent relevant experience; or High School Diploma / GED with at least 8 years of Field Services experience. Minimum of 8 years (accumulation) of experience in power plant (Utility, industrial or Oil & Gas or power plant maintenance, turbine generator maintenance or power plant equipment installation). Ability to lead site execution independently and manage complex outage scope. Hands-on experience with dismantling, inspection, reassembly, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and OEM documentation. Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. Strong documentation and reporting skills. Training on GE or Alstom technologies preferred. English proficiency required. Preferred Qualifications Completion of Generator/Steam Turbine Technical Field Advisor (TFA) training or equivalent is preferred. Site Experience on GE or Alstom generator equipment is preferred. Has the strong knowledge and experience to oversee outage management within a competency and may possess expertise in a secondary competency. Demonstrates mentor and team lead skills. Strong attitude to manage relationships with customers, concerning technical and contractual aspects. Strong organizational, project management, oral/written communication and interpersonal/leadership skills.
