YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE: Reporting to the Engineering Planning Supervisor, you will be a part of the Engineering Department, working closely with Underground Mining Operations and Geology. You will lead mid‑term planning activities and help connect near‑term execution with long‑range life‑of‑mine strategies. In this role, you will support the delivery of practical, executable mine plans and forecasts that balance operational realities with business objectives. You will guide and support the underground planning team, including mine designers and short‑term planners, while fostering collaboration across Technical Services and Operations to ensure consistent and reliable delivery of the mining plan. Ensure your own health and safety, as well as that of your colleagues, by promoting the use of work cards and applying the Supervisory Formula principles; Lead the delivery of short‑ and mid‑term underground mine plans, ensuring alignment between fortnightly execution plans, rolling forecasts, and quarterly planning cycles; Lead the development of annual budgets, in collaboration with the Long-Term Planning team and aligned with the Agnico Eagle business planning cycle; Directly supervise and coordinate mine planners and technicians, setting priorities and enabling consistent, high‑quality plan delivery; Act as a key interface between Technical Services and Underground Mine Operations, helping resolve planning gaps and execution challenges; Review underground mine designs, development layouts, and drill and blast plans to support safe and efficient mining; Spend regular time in the field for validating conditions, identifying risks, and working with crews to improve plan execution. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED Commitment to safety, both in planning and in-field engagement; College level technician diploma or Engineering degree, in mining or in a related field; Strong background in underground mine design and planning, with the ability to translate long-term strategies into executable plans; Experience in coordinating planning across multiple deposits and managing complex stockpile balancing is considered an asset; Working knowledge of Deswik software, particularly scheduling modules, and Deswik.Ops (or similar short-interval control systems); Ability to lead and support others, whether through formal supervision or informal team coordination; Clear and respectful communication style, with the ability to work effectively across trades, technical teams, and leadership. Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English. Your Work Schedule: Schedule: A hybrid schedule combining site-based and remote work; Flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d’Or, Quebec; Accommodation and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
