Job Description: Salary Range: $50,000 – $58,000 per year; DOE Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation (MLFC) seeks a Learning Technologies Specialist (LTS) to support the effective use of learning and operational technologies across the Office of Design and Learning’s work. The LTS works in two connected areas. First, the position provides support for learning technologies by helping colleagues explore how digital tools might support learning goals, understand available capabilities, and troubleshoot challenges. Second, the position manages user accounts, configurations, documentation, and knowledge resources for the Office of Design & Learning’s operational technologies. Working collaboratively with instructional designers, faculty, staff, a web application developer, university technology teams, and vendors, the LTS helps ensure that digital tools are well supported, clearly documented, and used effectively. The position emphasizes relationship management, technology configuration, problem-solving, and documentation rather than software development. Essential Duties: Learning Technology Support and Exploration Provides responsive support for learning technologies used by instructional designers, faculty, and staff Collaborates with colleagues to understand learning and program needs, explore the capabilities of available technologies, and identify potential technology-supported approaches. Supports the team’s use of learning technologies, including Canvas, the Canvas Enrollment System (CES), Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) applications, and related digital platforms. Investigates and troubleshoots problems involving learning platforms, digital tools, accounts, configurations, and integrations; communicates findings and coordinates resolution with instructional designers, faculty, and staff. Collaborates with instructional designers and other stakeholders to test tools, templates, integrations, and technology-supported processes that contribute to high-quality learning experiences. Monitors developments in digital learning technologies and shares relevant possibilities, limitations, and recommendations with colleagues and partners. Operational Technology and Knowledge Management Serves as the primary account manager for the team’s portfolio of learning and operational tools, coordinating account access, user roles, permissions, configurations, and service needs. Maintains clear records of tool ownership, configurations, processes, dependencies, and support contacts to promote continuity and effective management of the team’s technology portfolio. Manages the team’s knowledge-management platform, including the organization, governance, accuracy, and ongoing maintenance of internal knowledge and process documentation. Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop and maintain training materials, onboarding resources, technical documentation, and standard operating procedures. Partners with the web application developer and other team members to improve workflows using tools such as Airtable, AI-enabled applications, automation, and other configurable technologies. Contributes to the evaluation, adoption, ongoing management, and continuous improvement of digital tools based on user needs, operational requirements, sustainability, and organizational priorities. Coordinates with ASU Enterprise Technology, MLFC Technology Operations, vendors, and other partners to support tool accounts, integrations, service needs, and issue resolution. Desired Qualifications: Experience identifying technology solutions for learning or operational needs Knowledge of configuring, testing, and troubleshooting cloud-based applications, LTI tools, or other digital learning technologies. Experience developing clear documentation, training resources, or standard operating procedures. Experience collaborating with technical and nontechnical colleagues to coordinate solutions and manage multiple priorities. Working Environment: Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting and involve extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and use of a computer mouse. Position may require travel between campus locations or buildings for meetings or job-related tasks.
