Work Location Requirement: Applicants must reside in a state where Ventra Health is authorized to employ team members. Job Summary The Legal Intern will assist with projects within Ventra’s in-house corporate legal department, including (i) reviewing, drafting and logging contracts; (ii) reviewing, organizing and tracking various consents documents; (iii) performing general corporate maintenance and other compliance related activities; and (iv) conducting legal research regarding various legal healthcare and compliance related topics. The majority of services may be performed remotely, but some limited in-office time may also be required. Fully remote will be considered but we do prefer candidates who are able to work West Coast hours with the team. Essential Functions and Tasks Perform Legal Research Review and log both customer and vendor agreements Assist with drafting confidentiality agreements, vendor contracts, and customer contracts Draft legal correspondence and reports Manage state filings and business licenses Assist with various legal and compliance related projects Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree and currently a second or third year student pursuing a Juris Doctorate degree in an accredited law program Contract review/management, corporate legal or healthcare related experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Well-organized with excellent attention to details Strong ethical standards Ability to read, understand, and apply state/federal laws, regulations, and policies Ability to communicate with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and professional manner Understand and comply with company policies and procedures Strong judgment, problem-solving and critical thinking skills Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong time management, organizational, and decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize tasks Proactive, responsive and detail-oriente Ability to work independently Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Westlaw Compensation Base Compensation will be based on various factors unique to each candidate including geographic location, skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. This position is also eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus in accordance with company policies.
