Legal Subject Matter Expert (SME) - LATAM Remote Legal SME role applying expertise in litigation, contracts, compliance, and IP to annotate legal data, validate AI outputs, and improve accuracy and reasoning in legal AI systems. Work Location: Latin America, remote Engagement Model: Freelancer / Independent Contractor Project Duration: 3 months (with potential extension) Work Schedule: Flexible hours, based on the applicant's availability Language Skills Required: Spanish DataForce by TransPerfect is seeking experienced Spanish-speaking Legal Subject Matter Experts across Latin America specializing in civil litigation, commercial law, and administrative law. Main Responsibilities Research and analyze civil, commercial, and administrative legal matters. Review applicable statutes, regulations, jurisprudence, and administrative decisions. Assess litigation scenarios, procedural issues, remedies, and legal arguments. Analyze commercial agreements and corporate disputes. Annotate and validate Spanish-language legal datasets. Verify legal citations and statutory references. Evaluate AI-generated responses for legal accuracy and jurisdictional relevance. Draft structured legal analyses, memoranda, contract clauses, and case summaries. Collaborate with AI specialists on prompt development and evaluation methodologies. Role Requirements Licensed Attorney, JD/LL.M. equivalent graduate, Senior Legal Researcher, or experienced Paralegal. Minimum 3+ years of relevant legal experience . Strong expertise in civil litigation, commercial law, or administrative law in at least one Spanish-speaking Latin American jurisdiction. Native or professional-level Spanish. Strong legal research, reasoning, citation verification, and drafting skills. Ability to clearly identify jurisdiction-specific differences in Latin American legal systems. English proficiency is a plus. Familiarity with Generative AI is advantageous.
