Live Chat Representative

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client for an entry-level Live Chat Representative to join their growing remote customer support team. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves helping people, types quickly and accurately, and wants to build a career in customer service without ever having to pick up a phone.

Day to day, you will spend your shift juggling multiple live chat conversations at once, answering questions, troubleshooting simple issues, and guiding customers toward solutions with a friendly, upbeat tone. People who thrive in this role are calm under pressure, comfortable multitasking across several chat windows, and genuinely enjoy problem solving in a fast-paced, text-based environment.

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this role is $58,000 - $85,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to inbound customer chats through the company's live chat platform
• Manage multiple concurrent chat conversations while maintaining accuracy and tone
• Answer questions about products, services, orders, and account details
• Troubleshoot basic issues and escalate complex cases to the appropriate team
• Document each interaction accurately in the CRM or ticketing system
• Follow scripts and brand guidelines while personalizing responses to each customer
• Meet daily and weekly targets for response time, resolution rate, and chat quality
• Identify recurring customer issues and flag trends to the support supervisor
• Stay current on product updates, promotions, and policy changes
• Collaborate with teammates during peak volume to keep queue wait times low

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• No prior experience required, though customer service experience is a plus
• Excellent written communication skills with strong grammar and spelling
• Ability to type at least 40 words per minute accurately
• Comfortable navigating multiple software systems and browser tabs at once
• Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet home workspace
• Availability to work scheduled shifts, including some evenings or weekends
• Strong problem-solving skills and a patient, positive attitude
• Basic computer proficiency including chat, email, and CRM tools
