Shera International Group is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Loan Officer- Night Shift to join our U.S.-based mortgage team. This is a long-term remote opportunity for a professional with strong knowledge of the U.S. mortgage lending process, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage borrowers and loan files from application through closing.
The ideal candidate will act as a key point of contact between borrowers, real estate agents, referral partners, processors, underwriters, and closing teams, ensuring a smooth, compliant, and timely loan experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and develop qualified borrower leads through relationships with realtors, builders, developers, and other referral partners.
- Build and maintain long-term professional relationships with borrowers and referral partners.
- Consult with borrowers to understand their financial situation, home financing needs, and loan eligibility.
- Educate borrowers on available Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA mortgage loan programs.
- Review borrower information and assess eligibility based on applicable lending guidelines.
- Manage the loan pipeline from initial application through processing, underwriting, and closing.
- Complete and accurately enter the Uniform Residential Loan Application (Form 1003) into the appropriate Loan Origination System (LOS).
- Collect, organize, review, and validate borrower documentation, including pay stubs, W-2s, tax returns, bank statements, and other financial documents.
- Analyze borrower income, assets, liabilities, credit information, DTI, LTV, and other qualification factors.
- Run and interpret Automated Underwriting System (AUS) findings and identify potential issues before submission.
- Coordinate with processors, underwriters, title companies, appraisers, borrowers, and other third parties to resolve conditions and keep files moving.
- Monitor loan milestones, documentation requirements, deadlines, and closing conditions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date borrower and lead information within the CRM.
- Provide timely and proactive updates to borrowers, real estate agents, and referral partners through phone, email, and CRM.
- Ensure all loan activities and communications comply with applicable U.S. mortgage regulations and company procedures.
- Identify potential issues early and take appropriate action to prevent delays in the closing process.
- Maintain a high level of customer service throughout the entire mortgage journey.
- Meet individual and team targets related to lead generation, applications, funded loans, conversion, and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant U.S. mortgage industry certifications, training, or licensing will be an advantage.
Experience
- 3–6 years of professional experience in U.S. residential mortgage lending.
- Proven experience working as a Loan Officer, Mortgage Loan Officer, Mortgage Consultant, or similar role.
- Experience managing U.S. mortgage applications from initial application through closing.
- Experience working with U.S.-based borrowers and real estate professionals is strongly preferred.
Must-Have Mortgage Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loan programs.
- Strong understanding of U.S. mortgage lending guidelines and qualification requirements.
- Practical knowledge of TRID, RESPA, TILA, ECOA, and other applicable mortgage regulations.
- Strong understanding of borrower income analysis and documentation requirements.
- Ability to calculate and evaluate DTI and LTV.
- Understanding of credit reports, assets, liabilities, employment history, and borrower qualification.
- Ability to identify documentation gaps and potential underwriting issues.
Technical Skills
Hands-on experience with one or more of the following is required:
- Loan Origination Systems (LOS): Encompass, Calyx Point, ARIVE, LendingPad, or similar.
- Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS): Desktop Underwriter (DU) and/or Loan Product Advisor (LPA).
- CRM: Salesforce, Jungo, Pipedrive, or similar CRM platforms.
- Microsoft Office / Google Workspace and standard remote collaboration tools.
Communication & Remote Work Requirements:
- Advanced English proficiency (C1/C2) with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally and confidently with U.S.-based borrowers, realtors, builders, and other stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation, consultation, follow-up, and relationship-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple loan files and competing deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a fully remote, target-driven environment.
- Must be available to work U.S. business hours: 9:00 AM–6:00 PM EST.
- Must maintain a professional and secure remote working environment.
