Logistics Operations Research / Systems Analyst (ORSA) Remote | Client Site as Required | Ability to Obtain Security Clearance If you enjoy solving complex logistics challenges through data-driven analysis, systems thinking, and advanced modeling that directly supports national defense missions, we would love to talk. Why This Role Exists The work we do has real impact, and the people behind it matter just as much. D&G is seeking a Logistics Operations Research / Systems Analyst (ORSA) to support Federal Government clients by applying operations research, systems analysis, and advanced analytics to complex logistics and sustainment challenges. This role develops quantitative models, evaluates operational alternatives, and delivers decision-ready recommendations that improve mission readiness, resource utilization, and logistics performance. Working closely with government stakeholders, engineers, logisticians, and data professionals, the ORSA serves as both the technical lead and project lead, helping customers understand which courses of action provide the greatest mission value under varying operational conditions. What You Will Do • Serve as the project lead and Chief Engineer for assigned efforts. • Translate mission objectives and logistics challenges into clear analytical problems, measures of effectiveness, assumptions, constraints, and decision criteria. • Develop and execute optimization, simulation, forecasting, statistical, and analytical models supporting transportation, distribution, inventory, capacity, routing, scheduling, maintenance, and resource allocation decisions. • Evaluate alternative courses of action, logistics concepts, force structures, network designs, and operational strategies using mission-focused performance measures. • Conduct trade studies, cost-benefit analyses, return-on-investment (ROI) assessments, and capability gap analyses. • Perform sensitivity analyses, scenario modeling, parametric studies, and stress testing to identify bottlenecks, vulnerabilities, operational risks, and tipping points across contested and degraded environments. • Analyze logistics networks supporting steady-state, surge, contingency, and contested operations. • Collaborate with data engineers, systems engineers, analysts, and subject matter experts to validate assumptions, prepare data, calibrate models, and ensure analytical accuracy. • Translate quantitative findings into executive-level briefings, visualizations, reports, and actionable recommendations. • Present analytical findings and decision support products to senior government leaders and stakeholders. • Support strategic planning, logistics modernization, capability development, and mission engineering initiatives. • Lead project execution, coordinate technical activities, manage priorities, and ensure quality delivery of project objectives. What We Are Looking For Required • Master's degree in Operations Research, Engineering, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Data Science, or a closely related quantitative discipline. • 15 or more years of experience in operations research, logistics analysis, supply chain analytics, mission engineering, modeling and simulation, or related analytical disciplines. • Strong understanding of logistics operations, including transportation, distribution, inventory management, maintenance, capacity planning, routing, scheduling, and resource allocation. • Experience developing optimization models, simulation models, statistical analyses, forecasting methodologies, or other quantitative decision-support tools. • Ability to formulate operational problems into objective functions, assumptions, constraints, decision variables, and measures of effectiveness. • Experience conducting trade-space analyses, capability assessments, sensitivity analyses, and operational risk evaluations. • Ability to identify network bottlenecks, vulnerabilities, trade-offs, and operational tipping points. • Experience translating complex analytical findings into operational recommendations and executive decision support products. • Experience collaborating with logisticians, systems engineers, data engineers, acquisition professionals, and senior government stakeholders. • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and data visualization skills. Preferred • Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams or serving as Chief Engineer on complex analytical projects. • Experience modeling contested logistics, deployment and distribution operations, mobility, maintenance, supply support, or operational energy networks. • Experience analyzing manned and unmanned cargo systems, multimodal distribution concepts, or emerging logistics technologies. • Experience with Human-Centered Design principles and advanced data visualization techniques. • Experience supporting the Department of Defense, Combatant Commands, Defense Logistics Agency, U.S. Transportation Command, or other Federal agencies. • Experience with optimization software, modeling and simulation tools, Python, R, MATLAB, AnyLogic, Arena, Simio, or similar analytical platforms. Clearance and Eligibility • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. • This role is restricted to U.S. person(s) (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)). Location •Remote with travel to client sites as required by mission needs. Who We Are At D&G Solutions, people come first; our teammates, customers, and the communities we serve.
