Job Description Summary The Low Voltage (LV) Technical Leader will provide technical leadership and people management to a team of Technical Support Engineers focused on low voltage systems across offshore wind projects. The role is responsible for driving technical excellence, standardization, issue resolution, and project readiness related to LV systems, including turbine controls, auxiliary systems, communications, sensors, instrumentation, PLCs, converters, inverters, and low voltage power distribution. The LV Technical Leader serves as the highest commissioning technical authority for LV systems and acts as the primary technical interface between Commissioning, Engineering, Quality, Suppliers, and Project teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient project execution. Job Description Key Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of 5-10 Technical Support Engineers specialized in LV systems, with responsibility for setting priorities, shaping team culture, and strategic planning. Establish team priorities, workload balancing, resource planning, and technical development plans. Optimize team workload and priorities to meet project deadlines across multiple projects. Partner with the manager to align team resources with project deadlines, ensuring KPI targets (e.g., first-time-right, cycle time, productivity) are achieved. Ensure internal processes definition and promote processes alignment between the different parties inside Technical Support team. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to strengthen troubleshooting capabilities, technical rigor, engineering excellence, and operational performance within the team. Act as the highest commissioning technical authority and primary escalation point for LV-related issues, technical escalations, and complex failures impacting project execution, safety, schedule, or turbine availability. Drive rapid and effective resolution of commissioning, project execution, and operational technical issues. Lead technical investigations and coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Suppliers, and Field Operations teams. Support project preparation activities, including validation of procedures, commissioning plans, tools, spares, technical readiness reviews, and commissioning test plan validation in accordance with local and GE electrical rules. Oversee investigation of non-conformities, defects, and reliability issues associated with LV equipment. Manage defects and PACs, planning support from suppliers or design teams accordingly. Ensure technical lessons learned are captured, deployed across the fleet, and incorporated into future project planning and engineering improvements. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, reliability, productivity, digitalization, and data analytics. Standardize commissioning methodologies, troubleshooting processes, and technical documentation for LV systems. Support engineering during NPI processes for commissioning. Follow up on tests in previous manufacturing stages and prepare commissioning protocols both onshore and offshore to ensure technical de-risking. Represent the Commissioning organization in technical reviews with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through analysis and presentation of technical material. Promote strong EHS culture and ensure strict compliance with electrical safety requirements, LOTO procedures, switching protocols, and Electrical Safety Management Plans. Qualifications / Requirements Degree or Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience. Fluent English required. Additional languages such as Spanish, French, or Portuguese are a plus. Extensive years of experience in wind turbine commissioning, technical support, or operations in the wind energy industry. Strong expertise in LV electrical systems: Auxiliary Systems, Converters, Inverters, PLC Panels, Sensors and Instrumentation, Control Systems, Low Voltage Power Distribution, and Electrical Drive Trains. Previous experience leading technical investigations, complex troubleshooting activities, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams (design, suppliers, quality, and project). Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams of 5+ engineers or technical workstreams. Proven experience supporting commissioning or operation of offshore wind farms. Experience with design or commissioning of power converters, PM generators, and associated LV systems. Experience with commissioning procedures, electrical testing and diagnostics, and quality tools (8D, SIPOC, FMEA). Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to set vision and lead team to successful outcomes. Demonstrated systems thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to assess tradeoffs, effectively assess risk, and optimize results. Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder management skills, and ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
