General Requirements

DB2 System Administration

• Install, configure, and maintain DB2 subsystems on z/OS
• Perform DB2 upgrades, migrations, and subsystem configurations
• Manage DB2 objects such as databases, tablespaces, tables, and indexes

Database Performance & Tuning

• Monitor DB2 performance and optimise SQL queries and access paths
• Perform performance tuning using DB2 tools and utilities
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and implement improvements

Backup, Recovery & Utilities

• Execute DB2 utilities (REORG, RUNSTATS, LOAD, COPY, RECOVER)
• Design and manage backup and recovery strategies
• Ensure database integrity and data availability

Incident & Problem Management

• Provide L2/L3 support for DB2 related incidents
• Perform root cause analysis and implement long term fixes
• Ensure adherence to SLA and timely incident resolution

Change & Release Management

• Implement DB2 changes via CAB process
• Support deployments, releases, and database migrations
• Maintain version control and change documentation

Security & Compliance

• Manage DB2 security and access controls
• Ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements
• Support audit activities and provide necessary documentation

Capacity Planning & Monitoring

• Monitor DB2 storage, buffer pools, and resource utilisation
• Perform capacity planning and recommend scaling strategies

Collaboration & Integration

• Work with application teams, z/OS engineers, and infrastructure teams
• Support application releases, data migrations, and integrations

• Working language: English, and should be in speech and writing fluently.
• Product Migration Experience from CA tools/SW to IBM SW/Tools.
• CA Fast Check for DB2 for z/OS to IBM DB2 Utilities Suite for z/OS
• CA Fast Index for DB2 for z/OS to IBM DB2 Utilities Suite for z/OS
• CA Fast Load for DB2 for z/OS to IBM DB2 Utilities Suite for z/OS
• CA Fast Recover for DB2 for z/OS to IBM DB2 Utilities Suite for z/OS
• Strong experience in DB2 on z/OS (System & DBA level)
• Knowledge of DB2 utilities (REORG, RUNSTATS, LOAD, COPY, RECOVER)
• Expertise in SQL tuning and performance optimisation
• Familiarity with z/OS, JCL, SDSF
• Experience with DB2 tools (SPUFI, QMF, DB2 Admin Tool
