Role Overview Working closely with Chartis Consulting leadership, business development, and the practice management team, the BD Manager plays a critical role in business development efforts for the firm. This role will focus on enabling firm growth through go-to-market planning and execution. This role will report to the VP of Practice and Segment Operations. Responsibilities Firm Priority Pursuit Coordination Lead and coordinate the execution of the firm’s highest-priority strategic pursuits, ensuring timely, high-quality, and differentiated deliverables (e.g., proposals, RFPs, pitch materials), including: Facilitate pursuit team discussions, providing end-to-end project leadership across the pursuit lifecycle Strategically leverage enterprise assets and partnering across Lines of Business (LOBs), Consulting Operations, CCAID, CSIT, Growth, Creative Services, Research and Analytics to deliver tailored, high-impact content Review proposals and pricing models to ensure alignment with firmwide quality and compliance standards Orchestrate the client orals process, aligning stakeholders, managing timelines and elevating overall presentation Business Development Operations Partner with Market Leadership, Growth, and BD Enablement teams to evolve operating models and support processes that enable speed, consistency, and scalability across the enterprise Contribute to the advancement of firmwide tools and templates to improve efficiency, standardization, and quality of pursuit execution Serve as a connector across BD Enablement, Growth, Market Leadership, LOB Leadership, and Consulting Operations to ensure alignment, visibility, and coordinated execution across pursuits Support and strengthen centralized intake and triage processes in partnership with BD Ops and Growth leadership, ensuring pursuits are logged, prioritized, and routed with clear accountability and follow-through AI Enablement, Product Liaison & Change Champion Identify and advance opportunities to embed AI-driven capabilities into pursuit processes, including proposal development, account research, systems hygiene, and cataloging for later use Act as a liaison between the BD Ops and firmwide technology and product initiatives, shaping system requirements and supporting adoption (e.g., CRM enhancements, systems integration, automation tools, reporting infrastructure) Support change management efforts as new technologies and platforms are rolled out, helping the BD Ops team adapt and sustain new ways of working People & Culture Support onboarding and development of new BD Ops team members promoting best practices in BD processes, pursuit management, AI enabled tools Contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on learning, knowledge sharing, and professional development Demonstrate strong collaboration and accountability in cross-functional work and contribute to a firm-wide culture of accountability and client impact Qualifications and Desired Skills 5+ years of experience in a professional services or consulting environment Healthcare focus or background preferred Bachelor’s degree required Strong project management experience; comfortable managing and prioritizing under tight timelines Ability to rapidly learn and synthesize new information Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex information into clear, concise, and tailored messages Strong client service mindset – highly responsive and committed to high-quality delivery Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple workstreams while maintaining strong attention to detail Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions Advanced capabilities in MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel Passion for materially improving the delivery of healthcare in the world At Chartis, we pride ourselves on having a diverse workforce.
