Department: Movement Building and Member Engagement Reports To: National Director, Movement Mobilization Number of Direct Reports: none FLSA Status: Exempt Location: Throughout the U.S. Remote/Hybrid: Remote Category: Full-time Position Type: Union Travel Required (%): up to 25% Deadline to Apply: 8-24-26 Job Summary AIUSA’s Movement Building and Member Engagement Department (MBME) brings together grassroots members, activists, and leaders, and incorporates technology through distributed leadership to create lasting change. AIUSA works through grassroots development and leadership, partnership and coalition building, education and training, data analysis, and storytelling to build our movement for human rights domestically, connected to the international movement for human rights. Movement building is the key for sustainable change for the human rights movement, and AIUSA seeks leaders who can activate and collaborate with grassroots leaders who can play their part to create lasting change. Shared leadership is the process by which AIUSA volunteer leaders and staff together guide AIUSA. Our shared leadership guidelines encompass core principles, values, accountability and communication, along with core principles that serve as the foundation to support AIUSA’s human rights work. T he Manager, Digital Mobilization (“Manager”) leads and sets the direction for AIUSA’s digital organizing and mobilization strategy, driving engagement, and activism of a nationwide member base of grassroots activists. This role is responsible for creating pathways of engagement for prospective digital activists, foster community and activism of online activists, driving engagement in AIUSA’s priority campaigns and core programmatic work to win human rights victories. The Manager will also support the Movement Mobilization Unit, collaborating with the Digital team to integrate digital mobilization tactics into their plans, create supporter journeys, and data-informed strategies that support and foster innovative online and offline grassroots engagement and sustainable activism. The Manager serves as a strategic lead and cross-departmental partner, providing direction on how digital organizing tools, platforms and data are leveraged to achieve mobilization and organizing outcomes. This role is a union position and covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Communication Workers of America (CWA), Local 1180. Essential Responsibilities Strategic Digital Movement Building and Member Engagement Using member engagement data, develop and implements innovative online mobilization and activism strategies that: builds affinity with AIUSA, speaks to member interests, creates opportunities for members to take meaningful action (e.g., contacting officials, coalition building, attending events, etc.) and deepens their engagement using online-to-offline organizing strategies Works with the Member Center Specialist to strengthen and manage peer-to-peer engagement via AIUSA’s Member Center creating online communities, forums, and presence for member groups, facilitating communication and collaboration between members, member groups, and staff Works closely with Regional Movement Managers to develop region-specific digital mobilization strategies that amplify campaigns and digital outreach Manages ongoing optimization and improvement of digital mobilization journeys to reach organizational goals Collaborates with the Online Engagement (Development)team to draft and build emails, text messages, and other content for Digital Mobilization team to be sent to hand raisers, ensuring content aligns with Amnesty’s brand & values Collaborate with relevant staff and AIUSA member leaders to support organizational goals, facilitate activist communication and collaboration, and sustain a community-based organizational presence Data, Systems and Performance Leverages existing digital tools currently in use by AIUSA such as Action Builder, Engaging Networks, Mobile Commons and ROI and AIUSA’s Member Center to enhance member engagement Serve as a key thought partner on the strategic use of Action Builder and related digital organizing tools to strengthen mobilization and organizing efforts Establish, track, and analyze KPIs related to digital engagement, supporter growth, and mobilization outcomes Use data and testing to continuously refine strategies, improve conversion rates, and scale successful approaches Stays current with new digital trends, tools, and benchmarks  Leadership and Capacity Building Provide strategic guidance and training to staff and member leaders on digital organizing tools, systems, and best practices Act as a key thought partner in advancing AIUSA’s digital mobilization and organizing capacity and long-term movement building strategy Foster a culture of experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement in digital organizing work Other duties as assigned Qualifications & Success Profile To succeed in this role, candidates must bring both the technical expertise to execute the work and the interpersonal and behavioral competencies that align with AIUSA's mission-driven, collaborative culture. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Knowledge of traditional community organizing and traditional digital organizing principles and best practices including building and scaling supporter engagement and mobilization programs that connect online and offline action Applies creativity and innovation to movement-building strategies; applies best practices, supports testing and evaluation to improve organizational impact Demonstrated experience managing the rollout of new digital tools for organizing and activism Strong expertise using current digital organizing platforms such as Action Builder and ThruText Strong collaboration skills with ability to influence across departments to integrate digital mobilization into organizational campaigns Ability to translate complex digital data and KPIs into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders Experience designing and optimizing digital supporter journeys, including testing, segmentation, and iteration based on performance data Knowledge of global and domestic human rights issues Excellent communicator with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills    Excellent team and project management skills    Ability to embed inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) best practices into both strategy and operations    Core competencies define how we work at AIUSA.
