The Manager, Inspiration is accountable for turning approved AskNature’s knowledge priorities into high-quality resources that help people understand and apply biomimicry, ensuring content and knowledge projects are delivered reliably and meet established standards for scientific credibility, accessibility, usefulness, and audience value. Essential Functions Percentage allocations represent annual average estimates and may shift based on funding levels, contractual commitments, and organizational priorities. Content and Knowledge Project Management (65%) Deliver assigned AskNature collections, biological strategies, innovation examples, case studies, and other knowledge products against defined objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Translate project assignments into clear scopes, workplans, milestones, responsibilities, dependencies, and resource requirements. Coordinate writers, subject-matter experts, contractors, reviewers, partners, and internal contributors to ensure clear ownership and timely completion. Conduct research, writing, and content development as needed to advance project delivery. Manage editorial review, fact checking, expert review, permissions, attribution, and quality assurance throughout production. Ensure knowledge products meet established standards for scientific credibility, editorial quality, accessibility, audience value, ethical sourcing, and working closely with Operations and related internal staff leadership responsible use of AI and Indigenous knowledge. Monitor progress, resolve delivery issues, and surface risks, decisions, and resource needs early. Publication and Dissemination (15%) Bring completed knowledge products to their intended audiences through timely publication and coordinated dissemination. Coordinate publication across AskNature and related channels and execute dissemination plans with Communications and other teams. Coordinate cross functional dependencies required for successful release across Community, Innovation, Development, technology partners, and external contributors. Ensure publication and dissemination requirements established by grants, sponsors, and partners are fulfilled. Operations, Measurement & Continuous Improvement (15%) Maintain the systems, schedules, budgets, documentation, and production workflows required for reliable and repeatable content delivery. Track established measures for project delivery, content performance, audience engagement, and funded commitments, and provide timely reporting on results. Use project results, audience data, and contributor feedback to identify and implement improvements to production and delivery. Provide accurate project information and results for impact, grant, funder, and organizational reporting. Document lessons learned and improve processes so successful approaches can be repeated efficiently. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional background required; advanced study in biology, science communication, journalism, sustainability, design, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of progressively responsible work in science communication, digital publishing, editorial production, knowledge products, or related fields. Demonstrated success managing complex content and publication projects from planning through delivery. Background coordinating production workflows involving scientists, subject-matter experts, writers, editors, designers, and other contributors. Strong track record translating biological, scientific, or technical knowledge into accurate, accessible, and useful content for professional audiences. Familiarity with digital publishing platforms, content management systems, and AI-assisted content workflows. Skills & Abilities Strong project management across multiple concurrent projects. Ability to translate goals into clear workplans, timelines, and deliverables. Sound judgment, initiative, adaptability, and follow-through. Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and attention to quality. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Effective cross-functional collaboration and coordination. Results-oriented approach to continuous improvement. Ability to work independently within a distributed team. Commitment to biomimicry and TBI’s mission. Proficiency with Asana, Google Workspace, Zoom, Airtable, and related tools. Knowledge of biomimicry, sustainability, climate, biodiversity, materials, regenerative design, or related fields strongly preferred.
