We are looking for a Manager, Government Accounting & Forward Pricing to join our growing team. This position is located in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State or Hybrid/Remote (some on-site presence required). Department Summary: ​​​The Manager, Government Accounting & Forward Pricing will play a key role in developing and managing Janicki’s indirect cost rates and forward pricing processes supporting U.S. Government contracts. The Manager will lead the preparation of Forward Pricing Rate Proposals (FPRPs), support Forward Pricing Rate Agreement (FPRA) negotiations, and work directly with DCAA, DCMA, and internal business leaders on Government accounting and indirect rate matters. This is a highly analytical and hands-on position for someone who understands how Government contractors develop, forecast, document, and defend indirect rates. The ideal candidate has direct experience working in a government contracting environment and is comfortable moving between detailed financial analysis, FAR and CAS requirements, Government audits, and business planning. Roles & Responsibilities: ​​Lead development and preparation of Janicki’s Forward Pricing Rate Proposals. Develop and maintain multi-year forecasts for direct labor rates, overhead, fringe, G&A, and other indirect rates. Analyze indirect expense pools, allocation bases, labor forecasts, headcount, facilities costs, and other major rate drivers. Support negotiations of Forward Pricing Rate Agreements with DCMA. Work directly with DCAA auditors and Government representatives during reviews and audits. Prepare supporting schedules, models, assumptions, reconciliations, and documentation for forward pricing submissions. Monitor actual direct and indirect rate performance against forecasts and identify emerging risks or trends. Perform sensitivity analysis and scenario modeling related to business volume, staffing, facilities, capital investments, and cost structure. Review indirect cost pools and allocation methodologies for consistency with FAR and CAS requirements. Support proper classification and treatment of direct, indirect, allowable, and unallowable costs. Support Provisional Billing Rates, Incurred Cost Submissions, and final indirect rate development. Support DCAA accounting, estimating, and other Government business system reviews. Help improve and standardize Government accounting processes, tools, documentation, and internal controls. Provide practical guidance to business leaders regarding Government cost accounting and pricing requirements. Basic Qualifications: ​​ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in Government contractor accounting, Government pricing, financial analysis, or a related field. Hands-on experience developing direct and indirect cost rates for a U.S. Government contractor. Experience preparing or significantly supporting Forward Pricing Rate Proposals. Strong knowledge of FAR Part 31. Working knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards. Experience supporting DCAA audits or DCMA reviews. Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical capabilities. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Ability to work with ERP, general ledger, payroll, timekeeping, and other financial data. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively across multiple functions and levels of an organization. Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3). Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance is required Preferred Qualifications: Experience directly supporting or participating in FPRA negotiations with DCMA. Aerospace, defense, space, or advanced manufacturing experience. Experience with manufacturing and engineering overhead structures. Experience with Provisional Billing Rates and Incurred Cost Submissions. Experience with CAS Disclosure Statements. Experience supporting DCAA Forward Pricing Rate Proposal audits. Experience with Facilities Capital Cost of Money. CPA, CMA, MBA, or other relevant professional certification. Detailed Wage Information Wage range for this role is between $135K – 185K, plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role.
