The Physical Therapy Program Manager counsels treating physical therapists and prescribing providers on best practices, assists in developing more effective treatment options, and supports efforts that lead to better outcomes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES Manages the physical therapist team to ensure cohesive and effective delivery of clinical recommendations while also integrating new clinical insights and literature within the team practice. Analyzes clinical referrals for overutilization, underdosing, and overall lack of clinical improvement. Utilizes insights to develop clinically supported treatment recommendations to the treating physical therapist (and physicians as required) to ensure patient recovery and/or discharge. Communicates effectively with claims and clinical teams to ensure collaborative efforts and therefore better claim outcomes. Manages the distribution of workload among team members to ensure a balanced and efficient workflow. Responsible for team documentation and ensures accurate and comprehensive documentation of clinical recommendations and claims management. Stays up to date on all systems, reporting, and documentation to ensure the program remains current and strategic. Fosters a collaborative and learning environment. Supports team members in development of goals and keeps the members accountable in meeting quality metrics and billing expectations. Assesses the performance of team members while providing guidance and support when needed. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Provides support, guidance, leadership and motivation to promote maximum performance. Administers company personnel policies in all areas and follows company staffing standards and training recommendations. Interviews, hires and establishes colleague performance development plans; conducts colleague performance discussions. QUALIFICATIONS Education & Licensing Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program and current professional licensure as a Physical Therapist required. Experience Eight (8) years of related experience to include at least one (1) year of experience in supporting and servicing workers' compensation claims, including overall claims management and coordination with relevant stakeholders or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
