What You’ll Get to Do As the Manager of Project Operations for our High Voltage project team, you will lead and develop a team of Project Managers responsible for delivering complex substation, power generation, data center, and other mission-critical electrical infrastructure projects. You will provide strategic and operational oversight across the project lifecycle, helping teams coordinate multidisciplinary work, manage financial and delivery performance, navigate technical and schedule risks, and build strong relationships with customers, utilities, contractors, and internal partners. This role is an opportunity to shape consistent project execution practices while driving safe, high-quality, and predictable results across a growing portfolio. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop the High Voltage Project Management team, including coaching, performance support, resource planning, and consistent execution practices across projects Oversee execution and performance across multiple complex medium and high-voltage projects, including substations, power generation facilities, data centers, and other mission-critical electrical infrastructure, typically involving systems from 15kV to 500kV Direct projects through engineering, preconstruction, construction, commissioning, and closeout Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and deliverables across substation physical design, protection and controls, SCADA and communications, civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and construction disciplines Manage financial performance across multiple projects Lead coordination efforts with customers, utilities, owners, engineers, and contractors, including executive updates, technical escalations, outage planning, interconnection activities, testing, commissioning, and energization milestones Ensure project teams comply with contractual requirements, applicable codes and standards, company QA/QC practices, and high-voltage safety expectations Build and strengthen relationships with utilities, power producers, data center clients, engineering partners, contractors, and strategic vendors while supporting proposals, repeat work, and growth opportunities Drive team and project performance through KPIs, operational reporting, lessons learned, resource planning, process improvements, and clear accountability Identify technical, schedule, safety, and other risks across project portfolio and make timely decisions that protect project outcomes, customer relationships, and business results What You Bring Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams, personnel development, resource planning, and business strategy Strong working knowledge of substation, switchyard, power plant, utility interconnection, transmission, and data center project environments Advanced financial management capability across multiple projects Ability to evaluate complex technical and operational issues, coordinate appropriate subject-matter experts, and translate impacts into clear decisions for customers and leadership Strong executive communication skills with the ability to lead customer meetings, project reviews, negotiations, and escalations with confidence Ability to manage competing priorities, long-lead equipment constraints, critical-path schedules, field conditions, and dependencies among engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams Working knowledge of applicable high-voltage safety practices, quality requirements, utility standards, and relevant industry codes Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, SharePoint, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam; experience with CMiC or similar construction project management platform preferred Ability to travel 25–40% Education & Experience Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred 10+ years of progressive project management experience in utility, power generation, data center, industrial, or other high-voltage infrastructure environments PMP certification and/or PE licensure preferred Compensation & Benefits Salary: $143,860 – $191,042 annually (based on education and experience) Annual bonus: Performance-based bonus opportunity Work-from-home flexibility (when not in the field) Flexible working hours Four weeks’ vacation plus 7 company-paid holidays Health, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance Company wellness program, including access to personal health coach Company-paid benefits: Telemedicine, disability insurance, life insurance 401(k) plan with company match Family-oriented culture Career growth opportunities
