Key Position Details: FTE 1.0 (80 hours per two week pay period) 8-hour day shift No weekends Work location is predominantly telecommute, with limited onsite requirements based on operational needs Job Description: Provides leadership to and is responsible for research finance and post-award grant program activities. In addition, this position is accountable for developing and leading a team. Principle Responsibilities People and team management. Manage, evaluate performance, training and development staff. Coach and mentor direct reports. Recruit team members, conduct performance appraisals, and fulfill other managerial responsibilities as necessary. Ensure appropriate resources, priorities, and goal alignment are maintained. Oversee research finance and post-award grant program activities. Financially plan and conduct cost analysis in partnership with research sites. Ensure grant program activities are carried out in compliance with institutional, state, federal and other policies and regulations. Escalate issues/risks to senior management as needed. Act as research finance subject matter expert when needed. Oversee and manage vendors, as applicable. Communicate status of Research Finance activities to senior management and cross-functional teams as needed. Participate as key member of the Research Administration and Operations management teams. Provide feedback in the planning and execution of the strategic research vision. Provide feedback in the planning, and execution, and achievement of goals. Lead initiatives to improve processes and build operationally efficient systems. Work with the research community to develop priorities, processes, and operations that meet the needs and research finance requirements of researchers, staff, and key stakeholders. Work with the Research Operations department and lead development of systems, processes, and policies to enable and support research. Develop and implement metrics and key performance indicators to drive work. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting 3+ years experience in research finance or grant management Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting Physical Demands Sedentary: Lifting weight up to 10 lbs. occasionally, negligible weight frequently Pay Range Pay Range: $48.29 to $66.81 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience and education. Additional incentives may be available, including discretionary monetary bonuses, goal-based bonuses, and other financial incentives.
