The Manager, Strategic Initiatives, Utility Billing is responsible for overseeing 3 rd party relationships related to utility billing services. This role enhances operational efficiency and drives innovation by leveraging data analytics. The Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create strategic policies, tech advancement, and provide leadership to ensure utility billing operations are optimized and customer-centric. Essential Functions Policy Development and Implementation: Lead the creation, review, and continuous improvement of processes, and standards for utility billing. Analysis and Reporting: Oversee data analysis related to utility consumption, billing patterns, and customer feedback to drive improvements and identify trends. Customer Support and Communication: Collaborate with customer service and other departments to ensure smooth communication regarding billing policies. Handle escalated billing issues and work with billing team as needed for timely resolution. Billing Feedback : Oversee resident inquiries in relation to billing questions and work with client for resolution as needed. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with IT, Finance, Operations, and Legal teams to ensure the successful integration of billing systems with policy requirements and company goals. 3 rd Party Integrations: Ensure all integrations to the billing software are functioning as expected. Continuous reporting to avoid mishaps. Project Management: L ead projects aimed at improving billing accuracy, efficiency, and customer satisfaction, including software implementations, process automation, and policy changes. Qualifications Strong understanding of utility billing operations, regulatory frameworks, and data analysis. Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills. Proficient in billing systems, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. A successful candidate for this job would possess analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, capability in leadership and team development, proven strategic planning and execution, regulatory and compliance expertise , and strong attention to detail. Required Education , Experience , and Certification Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration , Finance, Public Policy, or related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in utility billing, policy development, or financial analysis. Supervisory Responsibility This position has supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This role operates in a fully remote work env ironment. This role routinely uses standard home office equipment and technology such as computers, monitors, keyboards, mice , and peripheral devices.
