About NNPBC Nurses and Nurse Practitioners of British Columbia (NNPBC) is the professional association representing all four nursing designations in BC – Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs), and Nurse Practitioners (NPs). NNPBC is home for nurses in BC, transforming health and health systems through the breadth of nursing expertise. NNPBC supports and promotes excellence in all domains of nursing practice and enables nurses to lead, influence, and transform health, the health care system, health and social policy, and the nursing profession itself. NNPBC is committed to truth and reconciliation, guided by the Indigenous Cultural Safety, Cultural Humility, and Anti-Racism practice standards for nurses in BC. We actively advance the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act, the recommendations from In Plain Sight, and the Calls to Action and Calls to Justice from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and MMIWG report. Our work is multigenerational, and we are dedicated to meaningful, ongoing reconciliation efforts. A personal and professional commitment to culturally safer practices, cultural humility, anti-racism, justice and equity is core to this role. About the Opportunity NNPBC is seeking a Manager, Systems and Information Management to strengthen the platforms, information practices, and vendor relationships that support our members, programs, and operations. This is a foundational role for a growing and increasingly complex organization. The successful candidate will bring organization-wide ownership and coordination to NNPBC’s core systems, helping to improve alignment, reduce fragmentation, strengthen privacy and information practices, and ensure that our technology partners are working toward clear organizational priorities. We are looking for a thoughtful, pragmatic, and collaborative leader who is energized by complex systems work, organizational problem-solving, and building structures that can support NNPBC’s continued growth. Role Summary The Manager, Systems and Information Management provides organization-wide business ownership and governance for NNPBC’s core platforms, systems roadmap, information practices, and related vendor relationships. The role establishes priorities, standards, and accountabilities to ensure that organizational systems are coordinated, sustainable, and aligned with NNPBC’s operational needs and strategic priorities. It serves as the internal business owner for designated platforms, clarifies system and data ownership, guides planning and prioritization, and supports consistent approaches to information management, privacy, access, retention, and lifecycle decisions. The successful candidate does not need to be the technical expert in every system. They will ensure NNPBC has strong internal ownership, governance, coordination, and decision-making across its systems and information. Working across departments and with external partners, the Manager identifies organizational requirements, coordinates dependencies, guides vendor delivery, and provides project leadership for systems-related initiatives. The role also helps ensure that NNPBC retains the organizational knowledge, documentation, and decision-making authority needed to effectively steward its systems and information over time. This is not a hands-on technical support, systems administration, development, or organization-wide project management office role. Technical operations and implementation are delivered through NNPBC’s managed services and development partners, while departments remain responsible for their business processes and day-to-day use of systems. The Manager does, however, provide project leadership for systems-related initiatives and significant platform changes, bringing the planning, coordination, discipline, and follow-through needed to move work from assessment and requirements through implementation, adoption, and operational handover. More broadly, the role provides the internal leadership and oversight needed to ensure NNPBC’s systems, information practices, vendors, and technical partners work together effectively and remain aligned with organizational priorities over time. Position Details Reports to: Director, Business Operations Location: Remote, with required regional travel; successful candidate must reside in British Columbia Type: Full-time permanent, 1.0 FTE Salary Range: $90,000-$105,000 per year NNPBC offers a flexible work environment, enrolment in the Municipal Pension Plan, extended health and dental benefits, generous vacation package (including your birthday off!), and a professional development fund. We are accepting applications until Wednesday September 2 at 4:00pm PST. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Organizational Systems Leadership and Planning Maintain an organization-wide view of NNPBC’s core platforms, program tools, integrations, vendors, ownership, and significant data flows. Serve as the internal business owner for designated platforms, including Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and the organizational website(s). Establish clear priorities, decision rights, ownership, and governance for systems, data, access, integrations, and significant changes. Alongside our partners, develop and maintain a systems roadmap that reflects organizational priorities, operational and program needs, dependencies, risk, capacity, and cost. Work with our partners to identify fragmentation, duplication, technical debt, and systemic risk, and bring forward practical recommendations. Systems Delivery and Project Coordination Establish practical intake, assessment, and prioritization processes for systems-related requests and initiatives. Lead systems projects and significant platform changes from assessment and requirements through implementation, adoption, and operational handover. Define scope, intended outcomes, roles, timelines, dependencies, budgets, decision points, and success measures, maintaining clear visibility into progress, risks, and required decisions. Coordinate contributions across departments, vendors, and technical partners, including user acceptance testing, communications, training, launch, and change readiness. Identify stalled decisions, delivery risks, or dependencies early and escalate them appropriately. Vendor and Delivery Governance Serve as the primary internal contact for NNPBC’s managed services, web infrastructure, and key development partners. Translate organizational priorities and business needs into clear requirements, decisions, and direction for vendors. Coordinate responsibilities and dependencies across vendors, systems, and internal teams. Monitor vendor scope, performance, deliverables, service expectations, risks, and costs. Ensure NNPBC retains ownership, administrative authority, documentation, organizational knowledge, and decision-making control over its systems and information. Data, Information and Privacy Stewardship Establish practical approaches to data and information ownership, storage, access, sharing, retention, disposition, and lifecycle management. Improve consistency in how information is captured, structured, maintained, and used across organizational systems. Ensure privacy, information governance, security, access, and retention requirements are embedded in systems and operational decisions. Coordinate privacy reviews and privacy impact assessments, and maintain appropriate privacy and information-management policies, risk documentation, records, and incident-response practices. Organizational Integration and Leadership Advice Work across departments to ensure systems and information practices support service delivery and organizational priorities. Help teams define business needs and translate them into practical system, data, process, and project requirements. Provide senior leadership with clear advice and visibility regarding priorities, investments, risks, dependencies, and unresolved decisions. Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve user experience, reduce manual work, and strengthen organizational consistency. Escalate material or unresolved systems, privacy, information, or vendor risks to the Director, Business Operations and senior leadership. Required Qualifications & Skills Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in business systems, digital platforms, information management, technology governance, digital transformation, or a related area. Demonstrated experience leading or stewarding organizational systems or platforms in a business owner, product owner, platform lead, systems manager, or comparable internal leadership capacity. Demonstrated project management skills, including planning and coordinating complex, cross-functional systems or digital initiatives from requirements through implementation, adoption, and operational handover. Experience developing systems roadmaps, governance practices, business requirements, and prioritization approaches aligned with organizational needs. Experience providing direction and oversight to external technology, managed services, and development partners. Practical knowledge of privacy management and information governance, including access, retention, and information lifecycle practices. Strong systems thinking, communication, facilitation, and judgment, with the ability to quickly understand complex systems, integrations, data flows, and vendor environments and translate them into practical recommendations and decisions. Confidence assessing technology from a business, governance, privacy, project-delivery, and user-experience perspective rather than as a hands-on technical administrator. A relevant combination of education and experience in business systems, information management, privacy, technology governance, project management, business analysis, digital transformation, or a related field will be considered. Desired Qualifications & Skills Experience with SharePoint, Dynamics 365, CRM platforms, websites, databases, Airtable, or comparable technologies. Experience supporting privacy impact assessments, records management, data governance, privacy incident response, or related information-management activities. Knowledge of British Columbia privacy legislation. Formal training or certification in project management, business analysis, product management, or change management. Experience in a nonprofit, healthcare, public-sector, regulatory, professional-association, or membership-based organization. Technology & Working Conditions Comfortable working within modern digital, remote collaboration, and knowledge-work environments. Fully remote; the successful candidate must reside in British Columbia and be able to accommodate occasional regional travel as required. Ability to work independently and effectively within a high-performing remote work environment. Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively within dynamic and high-visibility environments. Flexibility to occasionally accommodate system launches, incidents, meetings, or other operational requirements outside standard business hours. Capacity to meet the physical requirements of the role, including prolonged computer-based and virtual work. Interested? Join us in strengthening the systems and information practices that support nursing in British Columbia. Please apply by Wednesday Sept 2 at 4:00pm PST with a resume and cover letter outlining how your experience and leadership align with the qualifications and mandate of the role. We encourage early applications, with interviews expected to take place between Sept 8-10, 2026. NNPBC is committed to creating an inclusive and equitable workplace. We recognize that there are many forms of experience and leadership that contribute to success in this role, and we encourage applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences, including those from equity-deserving and underrepresented communities. We value the time and effort applicants invest in the process and will carefully review all submissions. Thank you for considering joining us in the work of NNPBC - we look forward to the possibility of working together!
