ROLE TITLE: Managing Director, Account Management, National Corporate Partnerships (Full-time) POSITION REPORTS TO: Jerry Ochoa, Vice President, National Corporate Partnerships PRIORITY APPLICATION DEADLINE: Sep 1, 2026 at 11:59PM ET LOCATION: Flexible WHAT YOU'LL DO We are looking for a Managing Director, Account Management to lead Teach For America's national corporate account management portfolio and drive the retention, deepening, and expansion of our current corporate partnerships. In this role, you will set the vision, strategy, and stewardship approach that keep our most important corporate partners closely engaged with TFA's mission, and you will personally manage a portfolio of six- and seven-figure partners. While net-new corporate partner acquisition sits with the MD, Business Development, this role owns the expansion and upsell of existing partnerships — including converting current partners into larger, multi-year, and transformational investors. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building durable, mission-aligned partnerships with senior corporate leaders and translating those relationships into sustained, multi-year investments. You bring a best-in-class customer service orientation, a rigorous attention to detail, strong strategic thinking, and the ability to take a bird's-eye view of the portfolio while attending to any and all needs of each corporate partner. You bring curiosity and openness to how emerging technologies — particularly AI — can accelerate your work, and you approach these tools with fluency, critical thinking, and a strong ethical grounding. The goal for this role in particular is to retain and grow TFA's existing corporate revenue base by delivering exceptional partner experiences that convert current partners into long-term, transformational investors. WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR Portfolio Strategy and Vision (20%) Set the annual and multi-year strategy for the corporate account management portfolio, including national and nationally-managed revenue goals. Develop annual priorities and tactics designed to retain, deepen, and grow current corporate partners. Build and maintain the account management team's infrastructure, KPIs, and workflow management processes. Portfolio Management and Partner Stewardship (40%) Lead a portfolio of six- and seven-figure corporate partners at the national and regional levels. Serve as primary strategist and central relationship manager for TFA's current corporate partners. Serve as the primary external representative of TFA with current corporate donors, including engagement with C-suite leaders, corporate foundation executives, and CSR/ESG heads. Oversee, strategize, and/or execute on general fundraising operations and stewardship of corporate funders, including renewals, impact reporting, and recognition. Ensure newly closed partners are successfully transitioned from the Business Development sub-team, delivering a best-in-class donor experience across the partnership lifecycle. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Enterprise Development (15%) Forge and foster deep partnerships with regional fundraising teams and national colleagues to build mutually beneficial engagement strategies that meet partner priorities and TFA's priorities. Leverage TFA's network of national and regional board members, senior leaders, and program teams to retain and grow current partners. Contribute to enterprise-wide development mindsets and donor-centered strategies across TFA. Lead complex, cross-functional project management to deliver on partnership commitments — managing down, across, and up within the organization and with external partners. Explore, develop, and responsibly apply AI tools to strengthen partner stewardship, portfolio management, and internal workflows — modeling curious, ethical, and critically-minded use of emerging technology for the sub-team and the broader NCPT. People Management and Team Culture (15%) Manage and develop your direct report (for our current fiscal year this will likely mean managing one Director on the Account Management sub-team) toward their annual retention and growth goals. Onboard, coach, and empower direct reports to grow as professional fundraisers and to meet their portfolio and revenue targets. Build an equitable and inclusive sub-team culture within Account Management that reflects TFA's core values. Support the professional growth and long-term trajectory of direct reports. Contribution to Team, Development, and Organizational Culture (10%) Contribute to a collective culture of excellence, teamwork, Core Values leadership, and commitment to DEI on the NCPT, National Development Team, and across the organization. Participate in special projects (e.g., economic model sprints, cross-team initiatives such as the Lead Now Fund). Step into leadership and facilitation opportunities at the Development team and organization level. Speak with respect and courage when necessary to improve processes, culture, and mindsets aligned to TFA's Foundations and Core Values. A WEEK IN THE LIFE Over the course of any week, the Managing Director, Account Management will spend time: Preparing for and leading stewardship, renewal, and growth conversations with senior executives at current corporate partners. Coaching direct reports on portfolio strategy, partner communications, and renewal execution. Building and refining impact reports, renewal proposals, and other high-stakes partner-facing materials. Experimenting with and applying AI tools to accelerate research, drafting, analysis, and preparation — and sharing learnings with the team. Partnering with the VP, NCPT and MD, Business Development to align on team goals, portfolio health, and cross-sub-team handoffs. Collaborating with regional fundraising leaders on shared partners and cross-cutting opportunities. Tracking portfolio activity, retention rates, and revenue projections in Salesforce and other reporting tools. Representing TFA at partner-facing events, executive briefings, and stewardship convenings. YOUR EXPERIENCE Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications): Ability to build and manage a high-performing corporate account management function, from strategy through execution. Expertise in the corporate philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, and/or corporate partnerships landscape. Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to identify opportunities to deepen and grow existing partnerships. Proficient in senior-level relationship management, including engaging with C-suite executives and corporate foundation leaders. Best-in-class customer service orientation and rigorous attention to detail. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing, executive briefings, and impact reporting. Rigorous project and portfolio management skills, with the ability to manage many complex partnerships simultaneously. Strong people management skills and ability to develop direct reports. Deep commitment to TFA's mission, values, and commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusiveness. Education: Bachelor's degree required. Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce required. Curiosity and openness to emerging technologies — including AI tools — with the fluency, critical thinking, and ethical grounding to explore, evaluate, and responsibly apply them in daily work. BONUS (preferred qualifications) Prior Experience At least 7 years of fundraising experience, partnership management, or account management experience with a strong track record of retaining and growing six- and seven-figure relationships. Prior management experience, including managing to ambitious retention and revenue goals. Experience in the education sector or in mission-driven nonprofit fundraising. Experience navigating complex, national organizations with matrixed local and central teams. CFRE (Certified Fund-Raising Executive) certification, MBA, or other advanced degree preferred. Work Demands Travel up to 3–4x per quarter for internal and external meetings. Occasional evening and weekend work required to support high-stakes cultivation and stewardship activities. Skills Ability to take a bird's-eye view of the portfolio while attending to any and all details of each partner. Ability to be entrepreneurial and flexible in a fast-paced, results-oriented culture. Strong ability to influence others toward outcomes without direct authority. Positive, can-do approach and ability to bring hopefulness and optimism to the team. Prior experience integrating AI tools into fundraising, sales, communications, research, or knowledge management workflows. YOUR FUTURE TEAM The National Corporate Partnerships Team (NCPT) is one of five sub-teams on TFA's National Development Team. Our charge is to strengthen, grow, and create new corporate partnerships that maximize financial and broader contributions to TFA's mission and long-term sustainability. The Account Management sub-team is responsible for the retention, deepening, and expansion of TFA's existing corporate partner portfolio, working in close partnership with the Business Development sub-team, regional fundraisers, and enterprise-wide leaders. Under a five-person structure of VP + 2 MDs + 2 Directors, this MD will lead the Account Management function and directly shape TFA's most important, long-standing corporate relationships. NCPT is an AI-forward sub-team, actively exploring how emerging technology can deepen partner relationships, sharpen strategy, and expand our capacity — and we're looking for leaders who share that curiosity. YOUR COMPENSATION The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.
