Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Mandarin to English Interpreter. The interpreter will handle live audio and possibly video calls, accurately converting spoken Mandarin into English and vice versa for clients in sectors such as medical, legal, and business services. Daily tasks include active listening, rendering clear and culturally appropriate interpretations, and adhering to established protocols, confidentiality standards, and client-specific guidelines. The role involves documenting key information when required, collaborating with dispatch or scheduling teams, and maintaining consistent availability during assigned shifts. The interpreter is expected to participate in ongoing training, apply feedback to improve performance, and use provided technology tools effectively in a remote work environment.
Qualifications

• Strong language proficiency: native or near-native fluency in Mandarin and English, with excellent grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
• Professional interpreting capabilities: proven experience in consecutive interpreting, strong active listening skills, and the ability to maintain accuracy under time pressure.
• Domain familiarity: exposure to or training in medical, legal, and general business terminology to ensure precise and context-appropriate interpretations.
• Technical and remote work skills: confident use of call center platforms, VoIP tools, and common office software, with a reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional work environment.
• Customer service and communication: ability to interact respectfully with diverse clients, manage sensitive or emotional situations, and follow scripted or client-specific procedures.
• Professional standards: commitment to confidentiality, ethical conduct, punctuality, and adherence to company policies and industry best practices.
• Education and training: relevant certification in interpreting or translation, or a degree in linguistics, languages, or a related field is preferred; prior experience in remote or call center settings is an advantage.
