Market Development Engineer

Position: Market Development Engineer Job Description: This Market Development Engineer will be primarily responsible for supporting customer’s technical needs around low power IoT Wireless electronic components like WiFi, Bluetooth, ZigBee and Thread SoCs. In addition, the ideal candidate should also have strong background in ARM-based multi-core application processor solutions (32-bit and 64-bit) from suppliers like Qualcomm. What You'll Be Doing Responsible for utilizing an advanced understanding of the customer needs and technical leadership expertise to champion return on engineering investment. • Drive demand creation by maximizing Arrow content on designs. Understand customer needs and leverage Arrow’s engineering and design services resources to facilitate solutions for customers. Apply technical knowledge to influence designs utilizing solution selling, resources, and strategies. Partner with the sales team across pre-and post-sales activities, providing technical support and consulting to promote demand creation. Technical calibrations & research with sales & other Arrow depts. & Suppliers in support of the customer design. Champion return on engineering investment, design win priorities, initiatives, and promotions by obtaining buy-in and support from sales. Attend supplier trainings in person and via conference calls. Manage supplier and customer expectations by building and developing relationships, keeping stakeholders up-to-date on activities, plans, and progressing towards initiatives. Identify key relationships amongst decision makers within suppliers and customers. Attend and actively participate in strategic branch meetings and QBR. Develop and drive strategic technical plans by supplier line or customer solutions. Participate in ArrowEDGE initiatives through branch training and customer calls. Organize engineering customer events. This job profile requires the assignment and participation in a sales compensation plan. A portion of OTE will be variable and tied to specific sales-related goals as set forth by Arrow. What We're Looking For Prior experience in a software engineering, design engineering, Field Application Engineering function or similar. Experience with embedded processors such as NXP i.MX Series, Qualcomm Snapdragon Series, TI Sitara Series, Mediatek, Rockchip or other based on Cortex ARM A-series cores Proficiency with High Level Operating Systems (HLOS) such as embedded Linux and Android and associated development tools Guides others in resolving complex issues in specialized area based on existing solutions and procedures Serves as an expert within own discipline Serves as a resource for best practices/quality on functional teams or projects Trains/mentors junior staff This role will perform work covered by International Traffic in Arms Regulations. Viable candidates for this position must be eligible for an export license or be a U.S. Person (which includes but is not limited to U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees) . Experience / Education Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a 4 year degree; or 5 years and an advanced degree; or equivalent experience.
