Position Summary of the Healthcare Instructor: As a Healthcare Instructor, you will support Bryan University’s mission to help our students liberate their innate greatness by providing an educational experience where each student has the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual and emotional growth. We are specifically seeking candidates with recent experience working in industry in a Health Information Management (HIM) role. Previous teaching experience is great, but not a requirement.  Responsibilities of the Healthcare Instructor: Instruct assigned courses within the designated program Host bi-weekly live sessions via Zoom in each course Maintain a flexible schedule that accommodates office hours and 1:1meetings to provide an excellent student experience Provide students with timely information and feedback on their academic progress relative to quizzes, tests, homework, and projects Conduct outreach to increase engagement with at-risk students Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of student academic and attendance performance, and submit final grades in accordance with university policy Actively participate in meetings, training programs, and professional development as required Remain current with developments within the area of instructional responsibility Other duties as required by the faculty job description, SOPs, and other university policies Requirements of the Healthcare Instructor – HIM and MBC: Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information, Healthcare Administration, Medical Science, or related field required. Master’s Degree preferred. 3 years of professional practice in HIM, Coding, or Revenue Cycle experience required RHIA or RHIT preferred Coding certified (CCS,CCS-P,CPC, COC, and or CIC) required Biostatistician experience and/or experience as an epidemiologist or and/or public health experience with CHES certification preferred Previous experience teaching online is preferred Ability to work in a virtual environment using multiple software programs simultaneously, including MS Office programs, Canvas, Cvue, Zoom, etc. Health Information-related professional experience preferred, with background in medical coding and or HIM legal aspects and compliance preferred EEO and Accessibility Statement: Bryan University is an equal-opportunity employer committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive work environment for all.
