Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role ORS are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join our expanding team. This role is focused on mechanical building services and HVAC design. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in the design of building services systems, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), domestic water and associated mechanical systems. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity requiring excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver high-quality designs within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. The successful candidate will be based in the Munster/ Limerick region with the local office based in Limerick. Key Responsibilities Create detailed Mechanical systems with Mechanical calculations, schedules, specifications and technical documentation. Producing drawings and layouts in AutoCAD and/or Revit (BIM). Coordinating designs with electrical engineers and other disciplines. Assisting with site inspections, surveys, and responding to contractor queries during construction. Supporting project delivery tasks such as document control, tender packs and design reviews Maintain project documentation in accordance with ISO standards, ensuring up to date records for electrical designs. Essential Requirements Possess a relevant 3rd level qualification in Building Services Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Demonstrated 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, showcasing a track record of successful projects. Results-driven with excellent communication skills. Proven experience in technical submittals, commissioning, and handover procedures. Strong work ethic, ability to work independently and collaboratively. Excellent communicator with good IT skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Project.
