Our Nuclear Services Division specializes in providing high-quality engineering, procurement, design, and project management for operating and new reactor clients, and partners with our other divisions to integrate nuclear design with electrical high-voltage, substations, switchyard, transmission line, distribution, and artificial intelligence integration design. We have been in the top 10 of EC&M's Top 40 Electrical Design Firms since 2012. With over 1,000 associates, we are big enough to perform, but small enough to care! Education/Experience/Licensure: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering from an accredited university ( required ) EIT (highly preferred) – or ability to obtain EIT within one year of employment ( required ) Previous design experience related to modifications in nuclear (DOE or commercial) plants (preferred) 4+ years' experience working with multiple operating nuclear clients and vendors (preferred) Ability to obtain unescorted access at an operating or construction nuclear plant ( required ) Basic knowledge of mechanical design codes (ASME, ANSI, API, NFPA) Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite). Additional software skills including Bluebeam, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Vault, Plant3D, Inventor, ReCap, SolidWorks, FARO Scene, and other 3D rendering programs (preferred) Responsibilities: Participate in the development of deliverables for nuclear projects within the Mechanical and/or Nuclear discipline Report to an assigned Project Engineer and act as a Design Engineer for Mechanical and/or Nuclear projects Be responsible for working with other engineers and designers to prepare design change packages for modifications at operating nuclear plants and other associated nuclear facilities Be proficient in preparation of engineering change packages (EC’s) Conduct field walkdowns to determine existing configuration of plant structures, systems, and components Follow a strict adherence to mechanical codes and standards Successful candidates will: Possess the ability to interpret codes and, regulations, and standard practices Be able to demonstrate adaptability; must be proficient in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues within a nuclear power plant environment Have effective oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing) Possess excellent communication skills and ability to interface with customers and internal team members under a matrixed organization Notice to External Search Firms: Mesa Associates, Inc. and its subsidiaries do not accept unsolicited resumes and will not be obligated to pay a placement fee for unsolicited resumes.
