A Pennsylvania-based physical therapy practice is seeking a full-time Medical Biller to join their growing and collaborative team. Responsibilities Manage insurance denials and appeals Coordinate with in-clinic staff for authorizations and retro-authorizations Contact physician offices to obtain referrals Manage credits and refunds through Athelas RCM software Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing statements, balances due, and insurance benefits Explain EOBs (Explanation of Benefits) clearly and accurately to patients Serve as a liaison between the practice and Athelas Update and maintain patient files with insurance details Clarify insurance coverage details with payers Ensure compliance with medical billing and coding regulations Resolve billing discrepancies Prepare billing and financial reports for management Handle patient communication via phone and email Perform data entry and generate basic reports Tools You Will Use Athelas RCM WebPT Egnyte Google Meet and GChat RingCentral Limber RTM Microsoft Office Suite Requirements Proven experience in medical billing, preferably in physical therapy or outpatient settings Strong knowledge of insurance verification, denials, EOBs, and patient billing Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially when dealing with patients High attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and integrate seamlessly into a remote team Experience with Athelas or similar RCM software is a plus Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
