Medical Billing & Coding Specialist (TheraBill Required)

Employment Type: Part-Time (20 hours per week) Work Schedule: U.S. Business Hours (Eastern Time) About the Role Our client, a mobile physical and occupational therapy practice, is seeking an experienced Medical Billing & Coding Specialist to support its billing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for submitting and managing insurance claims, following up on unpaid and denied claims, ensuring accurate coding and documentation, and assisting with revenue recovery. This role requires someone who can work independently while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in a remote environment. Key Responsibilities Submit and manage insurance claims. Follow up on unpaid and denied claims. Verify claim status and resolve billing issues. Contact insurance companies regarding authorizations and claim inquiries. Communicate with patients regarding billing questions and outstanding balances. Ensure accurate medical coding and documentation. Maintain billing records and update the EMR as needed. Assist with revenue recovery and accounts receivable follow-up. Required Qualifications Previous experience as a Medical Billing & Coding Specialist. Hands-on experience with Therabill (required). Experience with WebPT EMR (preferred). Strong understanding of insurance claims, denials, and reimbursement processes. Experience supporting a physical therapy or occupational therapy practice is highly preferred. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage follow-ups efficiently.
