As a Medical Consultant , you will support veterinary customers across various European countries. The role requires fluency in the respective local language(s) and offers the opportunity to provide additional support to customers in English and/or German , as needed. You will play a key role in helping veterinary practitioners with diagnostic test selection, interpretation of laboratory results, and medical case management, including treatment considerations and recommendations. The Team The Medical Consulting Team at IDEXX is dedicated to advancing veterinary care through high-quality diagnostic support. We place a strong emphasis on peer-to-peer education and building trusted relationships with veterinary professionals. Our consultants work closely with Customer Support, Commercial, and Laboratory teams to deliver accurate, practical, and clinically relevant diagnostic solutions to our customers. In This Role, You Will Provide telephone consultations during regular business hours on: Diagnostic test selection Interpretation of laboratory results (reference laboratory and in-house testing) Medical case management and treatment considerations Advise customers on IDEXX diagnostic products and services, including: Test availability Sample requirements Clinical utility Result interpretation Continuously develop your medical knowledge through: Independent study Scientific conferences and meetings Internal continuing education opportunities Regular review of current veterinary literature Contribute to educational and marketing initiatives by: Writing newsletter articles Reviewing laboratory diagnostic updates Supporting communications regarding new products and services Assisting with other educational and promotional materials Participate in IDEXX educational and organizational meetings as required. What You Will Need to Succeed Qualifications Veterinary degree with the right to practice. Extensive hands-on experience in Small Animal Internal Medicine . Ideally, additional qualifications and/or: Diplomate status with the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM) , or Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) . Language Skills Fluency in XXX , as well as English. Strong English skills are essential. Additional language skills, particularly German or Dutch , are an advantage in our international organization. Key Competencies Collaborative and service-oriented mindset.
